Frequently Asked Questions
- What sprayskirt will fit my boat?
Please refer to our kayak sprayskirt fit list. If you have further questions on skirt sizing please call us at 877.677.4327 .
- Can I use a whitewater skirt on my touring boat (or vice versa)?
Yes, many skirts are interchangeable between whitewater and touring boats. Typically all neoprene skirts are dryer and warmer. Nylon touring skirts shed water and do not seal as tightly around the body.
- What is the difference between a rubber rand and a shock cord?
A rubber rand is a piece of rubber that goes around the rim of your sprayskirt holding it to the combing of your cockpit. It forms a tight, secure seal that is dry and will not easily come off during the rough boating conditions of intense whitewater. A shock cord is a ‘bungee cord’ that goes around the rim of your sprayskirt to hold it to the combing of your cockpit. Not as tight or as waterproof as a rubber rand a shock cord is easier to get on and off and is favored by many novice kayakers as well as many boaters who are not doing big whitewater.
