Outstanding Whitewater Craft

Comments about AIRE Wave Destroyer 14 Cataraft:

This boat is a serious craft for whitewater. Surfs better than my old flat top Ocelot by far! Rides up and over big nasty waves. Tracks well but turns quickly to move out and avoid the scary stuff. Just ran it down the Wild Salmon fully loaded and handled the trip well. It runs best just you, empty or with a light camp load, on any kind of river you like, even the class 5's. Surfs big waves without grabbing the tubes like my old Ocelot. Is not prone to flipping! In 15 years I have never rolled my Ocelot up side down, and I run class 4 a lot. Thrown from my seat yes. Flipped no. There is something about these tube dimensions that make this craft nearly bomb proof. Perfect shape and outstanding performance.

    • Makes Me Too Cocky

    Best Uses

    • Big Water

    • Deep And Steep Holes
    • Rockin' Rapids

Comments about AIRE Wave Destroyer 14 Cataraft:

Aptly named for sure! Its fast on the water, responsive to the slightest gesture of the oar, and straight up hungry for big boat crunching holes. She surfs great, is noticably forgiving (does the Wave Destroyer have auto correct or what?!),and flat out the best Cat I have ever been on. The only draw back so far is that it makes me feel like an invincible 20 year old again. Oh well...
