Comments about NRS Men's HydroSkin 0.5 Shorts:

I am a bigger guy, 6' 1", 250 lbs, (with a little middle age spread) and run a Mamba year round and bought these shorts to use for everyday river running. On warmer days I wear them with an Under Armour top and I prefer them to say board shorts that are baggy and can bind up. On cooler days I wear them under my Farmer John and don't even notice they are there. I like the fit and wear and think they were well worth it.

Protects my "butt" from chaffing when spending a few hours in the surf on my wave ski - brilliantly comfortable. I erred on slightly larger size (I border medium/large so went large) and they fit well.

Comments about NRS Men's HydroSkin 0.5 Shorts:

I have owned the 0.5 Hydroskin previously and they are were my favorite paddling short. Unfortunatley, the 2015 design added a zippered pocket. Paddling a high back seat such as a surfski, the zipper would rub aganist the carbon/fiberglass seat back as well as your backside. This makes a great short completly useless. Regarding sizing, I am a 34" waist but wear an XL.

Comments about NRS Men's HydroSkin 0.5 Shorts:

I have had a pair of NRS Rodeo Shorts for years and they have been my go to paddling shorts until they finally started to wear a bit and start to sag. So I ordered another pair at the same size XXL. When the first pair came they were really tight which I sort of expected due to them being new and my higher calorie than usual diet lately. So I got them wet but they still did not fit. So I called customer service. They explained that the latest manufacturer's run tended to be a tad small. They offered to exchange for a larger size in a different model that was actually on closeout sale. So they sent me size XXXXL. Yep, that's right 4 X. I thought these would probably be WAY too loose. But to my surprise these are actually only just a bit snug. But they are keepers. They are very well made with flat seams and stay put in that they do not ride up or slip down. The fabric provides good grip on the kayak seat. I am totally happy. thank you customer service for making this recommendation!

Please click on the "Sizing" tab to see what size your measurements put you in. HydroSkin is a lightweight wetsuit; it has to fit snug to insulate you from cold water.

I'm barely a 38, half the time 36 and the XL size was too small, skinny
legs and not as much elasticity as older model hydroskins.

The shorts run very tight. My size is a 36 and I weigh 185 lbs. I ordered
an XL which was way to small for me. I then purchased a 2XL which is good
                fit for me.

That sounds right. I am a 34 and have a large. Now, it stretches, but
fits snug. I wear these shorts under a pair of trunks.
Great product. You will like them.

I am a 34 waist and I wear a large hydroskin shorts, even though they are a
little bit large for me. A large would definitely be to small for you.

I would guess about 9 inches or 10.
I wear them under an 11" inseam swimsuit and they don't show. However,
they are long on the backside top, so they stick out high above the
drawstring of my swimsuit. You can see from the picture that the back is
                higher than the front.
Overall they are great. They make cold water bearable. I can go in when
                most others would not.

Dear NMBI, while these shorts do fit snugly, it's a wetsuit garment. If you go in the water, water will enter.
