Our thickest and warmest HydroSkin® offering, 1.5 mm HydroSkin 1.5 provides substantial warmth without restricting your movements or cramping your style.
  • A convenient front-entry zipper makes the HydroSkin 1.5 Jacket easy to put on or take off as conditions change.
  • Grizzly sizing adds extra girth to the midsection to comfortably fit barrel-chested paddlers and rowers.
  • 1.5 mm Terraprene™ neoprene with heat-reflecting titanium provides substantial warmth without sacrificing comfort or mobility.
  • VaporLoft™ fleece lining adds warmth, dries in a flash and feels great against the skin.
  • Four-way-stretch PowerSpan™ exterior stretches with your movements for unrestricted paddling.
  • Paddler-specific design puts seams where they won't cause irritation.
  • Thinner HydroSkin 0.5 panels under the arms reduce bunching for greater paddling comfort.
  • HydroSkin is lightweight wetsuit apparel; it's designed for a snug form fit that restricts water entry and locks in your body's warmth.
  • A durable water repellent (DWR) exterior coating sheds water to help reduce evaporative cooling.

Comments about NRS Men's Grizzly HydroSkin 1.5 Jacket:

This is really not for winter paddling. I would prefer it did NOT have the light fleece lining because I bought it for whitewater and if it gets wet it takes too long to dry.
Overall, it is a high quality item that I will get a lot of use from during warmer climates/times of the year.

  • Q:

I'm 6'4" and weight about 240 lbs. I bought an XXL farmer john wetsuit a couple of years ago and now wish I had bought XXXL cause it's pretty snug. Now I'm trying to decide whether I should get the XXL hydroskin jacket or the grizzly XXL hydroskin jacket. I'm afraid the first will be too tight but the second looks like it might be a bit large. I'd like to say I'm "barrel-chested," but my barrel is a bit lower than that . . .

Cal, since that XXL John is pretty snug, I think you might find the HydroSkin Jacket the same. I think you might be okay in the G-L. It and the G-XXL have the same torso length. Exchanges are easy and free if the fit's not right.

  • Q:

I'm about 6', 290lbs, upper body a bit longer than lower body, looking for a wetsuit and jacket for rafting. Would the Grizzly Hydroskin Jacket (G-4XL) work over the Grizzly Wetsuit (G-4XL) or would I be better off trying to find a splash jacket to go with the Grizzly Wetsuit ?

Form-fitting apparel like wetsuits don't fit all body types the same. From your size and weight I suspect the G-2XL will fit you better than the 4XL, in both the jacket and suit. If you need extra torso length you can get that by adding Shoulder Extensions, Item # 17270.01. Adding a splash jacket to a wetsuit can increase warmth protection. It helps block evaporative cooling.
