  • NRS Rascal Inflatable Kayak

    Q:

Can I get adjustable seats for this kayak & foot support & knee straps?

      A:

The thwart seat is glued in, so you'd have to cut it out to add a different seat. Add the MaverIK Foot Braces, Item # 37318.01 and Thigh Straps # 50099.01 and you're dialed in for hitting the whitewater.

    Q:

I would like to know if this boat could handle class III and IV whitewater? ie... Nantahala, Upper Pigeon, located in NC and TN.

I bought one for my daughter, and I took it out myself for a day (I'm 5-11", 190 lbs--dry, but didn't stay that way.) I was clearly too much weight for this IK, and that made each class II seem like a III+. I did lots of swimming. It made our little warm local creek seem like a fun challenge. I would never, never take it down a class IV that I didn't want to swim. If I was 130 pounds, I'd definitely run a class V with it.

      A:

The boat itself can certainly handle those waters, Todd. You'll want to install thigh straps and foot braces for those water classes.
