The second bullet in the description describes how that hinged aluminum arm attaches to a D-ring to provide support to an anchor mount or trolling motor.

How do you mount a motor to the accessory plate? Any suggestions for a model of motor that is setup to be easily attached to the Gigbob mounting plate?

I haven't attached a trolling motor yet to my GigBob although most trolling motors I've looked at have a clamping mechanism that you would clamp down on to the accessory plate. Depending on the trolling motor clamp, you might need to attach a block of wood, or aluminum angle on top of the accessory plate so that the clamping mechanism can bite down in the horizontal plane. The accessory plate slides on to (2) raised ridges (like the oar plates) on the back of a GigBob w/ the (4) bolt holes towards the rear. I have used the plate with a Scotty anchor system and that works great! You want to make sure you put the plate on before you fully inflate the boat. The plate is the same lightweight aluminum as the oar plates, so would drill easy if you need to make a different hole pattern to help with mounting. Small trolling motors are lightweight, so shouldn't take too much to keep them attached. Keep in mind that trolling motor batteries are pretty heavy and big.

Jeff, give us a call, 800.635.5202. I think we still have a few prototype motor mount accessory attachments that we never put online.

will this work on the kickboat portion alone or does it have to go on the full boat?

Yes, this will work on the kickboat or the full boat.  To make a kickboat you just take off the bottom pontoons, so the top with the accessory plates and oars stays the same, it's just lower in the water.
