What is the difference between the PTR paddle and thered PTK paddle?

      A:

The blue one has a symmetrical blade, the red is assymetrical .. the PTR (blue) blade is slightly larger and the paddle has a couple of ounces over the PTK

      A:

Benjamin, the main difference is the blade shape. It's asymmetrical in the PTK and symmetrical in the PTR. The blade shape on the PTK is similar to the shape of higher end whitewater paddles. Also, the PTK has an indexed shaft that helps with paddle control.

No it is not, but we like it and it works great; moves a lot of water.

I'd say no, because I think I have the same paddle. Mine are not offset by 45
      degrees though.

No, it is a one-piece paddle, with a 45-degree feather, or offset.

Comments about PTR Kayak Paddle 45°:

Overall the paddle is good for the price and performs well. I would buy it again. When paddling, it feels kind of canoe like. For a power stroke, it does displace a fair amount of water. It takes getting used to, but it is a good paddle.

I got this paddle to go with my inflatable kayak. It works pretty well for me since I'm not a hardcore kayaker and it's great for beginners as well.

Comments about PTR Kayak Paddle 45 Degree:

I needed a solid, inexpensive paddle that could handle the ocean/beach/surf environment. This fit the bill and is almost perfect for the price. A tad heavy (but that's not real important in the surf). And I would have like an oval shaft on the power hand, but other than that ...this gets a 4 out of 5 for my intended use.
