I use a low water use washer at delicate cold water settings. I've had no problems. Remember to secure the draw string before washing.

They smell pretty spunky after repeated wearing so yes I have washed them on cold wash, gentle cycle. , just pure soap flakes (found them at health food store) NO bleach, and hung to dry.
      Mine are ladies style.

yes, but like any garment it will last longer with minimal hand washing. I
always wear UnderArmour compression shorts under neoprene--helps keep them
clean and they are less likely to irritate your skin, especially when worn
      for long periods.

Paige, while they could be machine washed on a gentle cycle, we recommend hand washing with Wetsuit & Drysuit Shampoo, Item # 2249, or a mild soap, and air drying.

Did not machine wash. Actually bought a special enzyme wash and soaked
      these and let dry outside

    Q:

Why are all the HydroSkin shorts and pants always Black?
Your tops are nice colors, but there is no choice for the lower half. Please advise reason for this. Thanks.

      A:

I believe that the reason for wearing this particular piece of gear, is when the weather is too cool
for a pair of swimming trunks. The color ‘Black’ retains heat, making this a much better color choice
      than a lighter color.
And, please don’t tell anyone... “I’m told”, the color Black in tight fitting clothes, also makes you look thinner.

I use Hydroskin shorts for sail boat racing, rafting, water skiing.
Owned older NRS pair that had FLEECE LINING.
However the new pair from NRS does not have any lining at all! It feels like hard rough plastic against your skin. We are loyal to NRS because the higher quality and great conforable material they use. However we feel "NRS missed the bullseye" with these hydroskin shorts.
They changed from the older "soft fleece lining" to "NO LINING" AT ALL! Very uncomforable.
Most customers would pay more for a better product,I would.
Cutting corners and making "lesser quality" products never helps when trying to keep a loyal customer base. Surely NRS has the same customers buying all the time.
We are all Respecfully requesting that NRS goes back to the older Fleece Lining Hydroskin Shorts.

Comments about NRS Men's HydroSkin Shorts - Closeout:

I love the performance of hydroskin, I paddle all year round and also race, which often makes the option of a drysuit impossible as I would overheat. So I use the hydroskins to great effect. To be able to control my temperature I own the farmer johns, the pants, shorts and tops this allows me the most flexibility for lower body and upper body clothing options. There is nothing worse than being too cold or too hot when racing as both are very detrimental to a good performance.

Comments about NRS Men's HydroSkin Shorts - Closeout:

I'm a big fan of hydroskin and these are great shorts for use on not-so-cold kayaking days, but they seem to run small. I'm 6' 165lbs and usually get 33 or 34 waist pants. Size large was way too tight. So I went with XL in the rodeo shorts.
NRS returns are super easy so I'm a happy customer.

Good for packrafting when boating in colder water - but water not cold enough to require a wet or drysuit. Good coverage, and fit seems true to size. Works well beneath lighter outerwear and with hydroskin top.
