Not a good glove for endurance rowing

By Dyllap

from Cape Cod

Verified Buyer

Pros

  • Fits well, true to size

Cons

  • Padding on palm of glove is not sufficient

Best Uses

Comments about NRS Women's Boater's Gloves - Closeout:

The main purpose of purchasing this glove was to get a snug fit glove to use for heavy oar rowing for racing. This glove's padding is not sufficient nor is it the material needed to get a good grip on the oar.

Comments about NRS Women's Boater's Gloves - Closeout:

I've used these gloves for kayaking and even on my bicycle. They are comfortable, well-padded and give great UV protection without making hands sweat even more in summer. The closeout price was an extra good deal! I gambled that the size would be OK, they do run a little small so it worked out well.

                Service and delivery comments:

All items ordered arrived quickly and in good condition.

Comments about NRS Women's Boater's Gloves - Closeout:

These gloves are one item that many people probably don't figure is a must have for kayaking. I can tell you, they make a 100% difference. The shield your hands from sunburns (which we often don't think of putting sunscreen on) and they dramatically reduce the amount of strain on your hands from paddling. The grip on the gloves also protects your hands from blistering.

I was right on the edge of the sizing from Medium to Large and I went Large; they are a perfect fit!

                        Service and delivery comments:

Shipment was delivered quickly and before our camping trip that we needed them for.

                          Q:

In measuring myself to order women's NRS Boater's Gloves I find that My measurements puts me between a Medium & a Large. What direction should I go for; length fit or width fit to order the size.
3.5" is the width & 7 " is the length. :) Thanks You

                            Hi,
Based on my experience with these gloves, I would go for the smaller size. A tighter fit is better than a loose fit in my opinion. If the glove is too big, the extra fabric will bunch-up or have little folds and that can lead to blisters. Also, the fabric has some stretch in it and that helps with the fit. Bottom line: a snug fit is good.
                            Hope that helps.

when I ordered the gloves for my wife, I went off the size for her cycling gloves, and guessed incorrectly. (she needed the boating gloves a size larger than her cycling gloves). Frankly, I'd order one of each size, try them on, and return the other pair. NRS has such good service, it's easy to do that.

I would go with the width, only because you don't want to have them so tight
on your hand that you lose any feeling or get tingling in fingers.

I would get the large as they fit snugly.
