The NRS Women's Axiom is truly the most comfortable glove you can paddle in. Stretchy sun-protective back, grippy ventilated palm, in an open-finger design.
  • Silkweight H2Core™ fabric in the glove back stretches four ways, breathes readily for cooling and dries quickly. And it gives you UPF 45+ sun protection for your hands.
  • Three-quarter finger design leaves your fingers free to tie knots, operate your camera and check the wind direction.
  • Vent holes in the Amara® synthetic leather palm increase cooling.
  • Sticky polyurethane pads on the palm give excellent grip for paddle control.
  • The synthetic-leather material on the fingers extends out slightly to provide a grip tab that's helpful in tugging the glove off.
  • Synthetic leather panel over the thumb web prevents wear in this vulnerable area.
  • A soft strip of fleece on the back of the thumb is perfect for wiping the sweat from your brow without chafing.

    Q:

Do these work well for SUP PADDLING?
Asked on 10/2/2014 by Nora from CO

      A:

Hi, I guess I got this request because I bought two pairs of the gloves in question. I bought them for my daughter and granddaughter for 6 day, 60 mile canoe trip in the Boundary Waters area of MN. They would be better at giving a personal opinion but I do know they expressed gratitude for having them resulting in no blisters and stronger grip on the paddle. (Especially my daughter, less for the granddaughter who didn't pull all that hard on her paddle, all the time--she's 10 years old and was my bow paddler. Not sure what "sup" paddling is but for canoe paddling they're great. Terry

They are great! Fit well and are very comfortable. I use them for kayaking,
but would be good for Sup Paddling as well.

They'll work just fine, Nora. They're very flexible and will give you a good grip on the paddle.

Wife loves them! Kayaked using them a could of times last summer, but usage
should be pretty similar for other paddlers. We would recommend.

If between sizes, size up or size down? I don't want buckling (too large) and I don't want restricted circulation (too small).

Tam, I suggest going with the larger of the two sizes.

    Q:

I'm concerned about the stitching on the thumb? Wouldn't this cause extra pressure or rubbing when paddling?

      A:

I don't think the stitching will cause a problem; the material is very soft, so the seams are too.
