Lynn I think the XL would work best. If your torn about sizing, order L and XL try them on and keep the one that fits best. You can send the other back with a Hassle-Free label, which can be found on our website

My wife's jacket is Large and fits her comfortably. She falls in the upper-middle of the sizing spec for a Medium jacket but wanted a bit more room for warm under-clothing than the Medium jacket would allow with comfort. Her arm-length, as you have defined it, is 20" and the Large jacket measures right about 23" to 24".
I recommend that you get both Large and Extra-Large jackets (I doubt Medium will fit you very well), try both on with under-clothing, move your arms around and twist your body, stretch and bend over at the waist, and see which one fits you more comfortably, return the other.

I just wore (the men’s version) on a late September trip on the Rogue river. Yes, you can wear it as a windbreaker and it was comfortable. I have had one of the tight-necked serious kayaker dry tops and it is much better for what I need it for—rafting. Also, we managed to hit the 6” rain monsoon and for two solid days it rained and it was a lifesaver. Nice product. Phil

      A:

The neck will fit snug, but is not designed to be totally watertight like a dry top neck gasket. Plus, there's a zipper that adjusts fit and opens for ventilation.
