      Hello!
It's been a little while, but I think that one of them was on clearance - different color. Maybe last year's model?

The difference is mostly cosmetic, different color and cut lines. There's a slight difference in material, but it's not significant. If we've still got your size in the closeout, it's a good deal.

      Hi,
I don't know what difference is unless one is short sleeve and the other long sleeve or it may be size differences. But thats probably not it.
I do know its a quality jacket as I have a couple of them. I've used one of them once as the weather/river conditions here in Arkansas rarely require one + I'm not paddling much anymore.
      Best of luck.

How does the men's sizing compare for women with the NRS Payette Jacket - closeout? Is the weight and hight chart apply the same? I usually wear a size 10 in street clothes.

      I'm tall/slim and wear a 10 or 12 depending on cut
I bought the short sleeve Mens medium and am very happy, with the fit
across the shoulders/chest/length. The neck is a little bit loose, but
since it's my warm weather gear I'm not too concerned-I may add a bit
more velcro if too much water runs in
hope this helps- I would recommend it

Buy one size up from what you would normally order. My men's large fits my girlfriend at 5' 10" , 160 lbs (we're in our 50's, so give us a break). I would normally buy a medium. Would recommend for sure, love mine.

I'm 6'4" and 205 lbs and use the XL version of this jacket.  It's plenty long enough and roomy in the body; tight on the arms.  If you wear a size 10 dress I would imagine that the Large would certainly be big enough.  It might be a little large on you but who cares?  I doubt that it would be sloppy big.  Unfortunately, I don't really know how the men's and women's compare size for size.  I think this is a unisex jacket, isn't it?  Sorry I'm not more helpful.

I have the Men's medium and I wear a size 14 blazer or blouse, sometimes a 12, which is due to broad shoulders.
If you are a 10 you would need a small or extra small.

This was a replacement for one that wore out prematurely. As usual, NRS' wonderful customer service folks took the time to listen to me and, as usual, they made me happy again. NRS should market seminars on how to make customers happy to all other mail order companies. When I have had poor service from the phone company, bike companies, cable companies etc, I suggested that they investigate NRS to see how customer service is SUPPOSED to be done.

Everything was great except the arm bands at the biceps were way too tight. I'm 6', 175lbs and I'd say my biceps are average or maybe a little larger than normal. There is no way I could have withstood the tightness of the bands, so I had to return this product. It's too bad, because I liked the shirt otherwise. I wouldn't call it a jacket. It's relatively lightweight.

Comments about NRS Payette Jacket - Closeout:

Great splash top for aerobic paddling in the tweener seasons. The short sleeves are perfect when you want to waste excess heat yet keep your core dry. Perfect for spray, wind, and rainy conditions. Sleeves and neck closure are adequately waterproof yet still comfortable and easy to put on/take off. It's not a dry top, but perfectly adequate if you don't need immersion protection.

Fit is generous - a bit blousy for a half sleeve top where you're not likely to wear multiple layers below, but that said, it's comfortable and unrestrictive.

I'll buy the Long sleeve version as well. Just works.

      Service and delivery comments:

NRS is still around because you still have the sense of individual customer service you had when starting up. Kudos. Everything came as expected, shipped quickly and accurately. The CS call to confirm boater's bucks was something I hadn't expected. NICE human touch. NRS has become our kayak gear outfitter of choice. Good reliable gear, wide selection from bomb proof to recreational, all well designed and functional. I've never had to test your return policy. Everything has come exactly as described and just plain RIGHT, and has stayed that way through a dozen seasons or more.

I needed a light weight splash jacke and this one fit perfectly, while not waterproof, it allows for most water to be shed away while paddling. Its comfortable and I don't get too hot even on the warm summer days.
