    Q:

If they are washed how long do they take to dry?

      A:

Hydroskin will dry a bit quicker than neoprene. The material is thick enough to provide some warmth like a thin neoprene...good stuff.

I have washed them and just laid them out and they were dry within a few

      A:

The neoprene doesn't "breathe; however, the nylon fabrics that sandwich the neoprene dry like nylon does. To get the inside of the pants to dry more quickly, just turn them inside out. As to how quickly they dry, it depends on the conditions you're in. You can't toss them in a clothes dryer, so it depends on the environment. In warm, low-humidity air they'll dry in a hurry. In cold, high humidity, more slowly.

I hang dry for about a 24hrs, I turn mine inside out for awhile then back to speed up the drying time.

That would be the unfortunate part. Honestly, a couple of days to dry completely. The day after they are still damp in places. However, I have worn them damp, and they still keep me warm.

They are plenty durable for that kind of activity. However, while they have a nice fitting waist, since they weren't designed for that, if you hit the water head first at speed I can't guarantee you won't experience some downward migration!

    Q:

I'm in between size Small and Medium. Do you recommend sizing up or down? Should a Hydroskin garment fit absolutely skin tight with nary a wrinkle or gap anywhere? If so, would that tight a fit be comfortable for paddling a sea kayak? Please answer for all Hydroskin garments, not just the capris. Thanks.

I did not go skin tight, though there is some give in the material, i wanted to feel comfortable sitting in them in a kayak.   I have some "wrinkles" but regardless they are warm and comfortable. i have both the capris, which fit me like pants because i am short, and the the longer version of shorts. I really like them and on more than one occassion have had to take a "swim" in cold water and i always have the same thought "i am so glad i bought these!". Love my hydroskins : ).

HydroSkin, like any wetsuit garment, should fit snug to restrict water entry and exit from inside. You can order both sizes and keep the one you like best. Returns and exchanges are easy and free.

I would size up - it's nice to have a bit of room. It doesn't impact the performance of the Hydroskins at all. And it much more comfortable for kayaking!

What seems to be a tight fit when dry is actually a bit looser when wet. I am between a med and a large and wear a med in pants, shorts ,etc. For tops I wear a men's med because of range of motion getting out of the shirt when it is wet. The men's top in the hydroskin gives me just a bit more room. Hope this helps.

    Q:

this may sound a little crazy, but would the women's hydroskin capri fit a man OK? I want something to cover my knees - longer than the shorts, but not as long as the pants. I wear an XL in the men's hydroskin shorts and pants. I have a skinny waist which is probably not the "womens" cut mentioned in the description.

If you are an XL in mens, then these would not fit ... unless they make a women's 2XL.   You need to go one size over in womens sizes.

Ernie, compare the sizing in the women's to your measurements to see if it looks like it will work. The other option is to cut off a pair of men's HydroSkin Pants, Item # 15012.01. Hem up the cut with a stretchy stitch.

I've used Aquaseal to repair spots on spray skirts and my drysuit. I would apply a thin coat to the outside...it will show, but should work just fine.

I use the product for kayaking and have been in the sea swimming with them too.
They feel fantastic on and remarkably warm and I feel like I look reasonably good when I wear them...always a bonus.
Real shame is that the fit is slightly weird. One leg (left one!) has been made slightly larger than the other so really wrinkles badly when wet...I am hoping it's just an unfortunate one off and have now given them away to someone who has a slightly larger leg diameter than me and they seem really happy with them. I think I'll be ordering another pair in future hoping they fit better this time.

This is actually my second pair. Not that the first wore out, but I needed another due to weight loss. I've used these kayaking as well as snorkeling and found them to be just right when a wetsuit would have been overkill, and a swimsuit not quite enough. They are super comfortable, and well made. Totally recommend!

I LOVE THESE. I use these for when I am sitting in an outdoor touch tank at an aquarium, and they are the perfect rise. When I bend over I can guarantee these will keep me covered. I also use them for kayaking. During Texas summers or our freezing winters, these keep me comfortable. They are just the right thickness for any season. They do not ever retain a smell either. There is never any chaffing and they stretch really well to any position you fall into. I would absolutely recommend these to anyone! Another great product, NRS.

I wear the hydroskin capris for kayaking. The redesign of these pants is perfect. The high waist keeps the pants up in case of a spill, and they will stay up regardless, which wasn't the case witht the former design. These pants are a must have for anyone who kayaks or SUPs in cool water.
