The XXL fits pretty well on a L person. It won't really fit on an XL person. I would only recommend it to size L and smaller people. Try coming out with a XXL and maybe those of us with a 45 chest could fit in it. I fit into the other types of hydroskin XXL tops well.

Comments about NRS Men's HydroSkin Jacket - Closeout:

We purchased this for my son because we were going to be paddling in deep, cold water with limited access to shore. It was not as comfortable as a fleece but felt the added protection from hydroskin was worth the minimal tightness. My son did not complain about being cold nor being uncomfortable.

I hardly ever wear my wetsuit since buying this and the pants that go with it. Getting in and out of it is so easy, no struggling to straighten twisted sleeves, no struggling to get it off. It sheds water nicely, so I don't bother with a paddling jacket, which is nice because no more feeling of being enclosed in a noisy, humid plastic bag.

Fit is important or some chafing will probably ensue. Mine works great with comfortable seams. The ability to front zip for ventilation is huge. I wear it on 60 degree F or cooler mornings and winter days in So. Cal. while SUP or sit on top kayaking in waves.

                Q:

I purchased one of these jackets approx 2 years ago and it has faded dramatically and it is also fraying on either side of the zipper. I do not think this should be normal as I have a friend (who suggested that I buy this jacket) who has owned his for at least a year longer than mine and we both give the jackets the same kind of use (2-3x / wk in a pool). His has retaind the black coler and no fraying. Any info you can give would be appreciated.

Jim, the high chlorine content of pool water is hard on neoprene garments. Please send the jacket back to us for warranty evaluation: NRS Returns, 2009 South Main St., Moscow, ID 83843.

I just purchased this jacket a few weeks ago and have not had time to put in significant use. But I do not think that the fraying you're talking about is normal. I trust NRS and their products and have never had an issue with anything they make.

                  Hi Jim,
For what it's worth, I've had about a year of use 2-3x/week. No fraying.
No fading. I've used it in the sun more than just a few times.
Perhaps the pool chlorine is to blame for the fading. (Can't say I'd care
                  much about a little fading.)

And have had no fraying or fading but I haven't washed the jacket. I probably only used it
Only 2 dozen times. Maybe its detergent you use. Too harsh on the fabric. I hope you don't use
Bleach...Kind of strange your bud has no problems with the same use. Perhaps, you just
Got a lemon. Good luck. A pricey product that I would expect to wear better and longer.

Yes, I own one of these Hydroskin jackets. Mine is 2 or 3 years old and is
in mint condition (no fading or fraying). However, I have only used mine on
early spring river runs. I love it but it doesn't get near as much use as

My Farmer John is a pretty snug fit, with the intent of keeping most water out and trapping the water that gets in so it warms from body heat. My Hydroskin shirt on bare skin is also a pretty snug fit. I have not tried using them together, but if I did, I believe that the Hydroskin would have to go under the Farmer John for my existing fits. If you have a slightly looser fit on the Hydroskin, it could be worn either way.

I couldn't, as I found the sizing for the hydroskin jacket to be small,
mostly the lower sleeves which are quite snug, so I have either worn it
with my sleeveless ( tank-top style) hydroskin top or simply worn it in
place of a long sleeve shirt, as one can adjust the zipper for
ventilation and it isn't very thick. They would have done well to have
sleeve zippers like the regular wetsuit jackets.

I wear a jacket over my long sleeve hydro-skin shirt. I think the jacket may be a size larger than the shirt. I double up when the water is really cold, or a swim might be a long one. Just like layering when I go for a hike in the mountains.

I wouldn't, unless you're going the Antartic! Love the Hydroskin, but they
are tight-fitting and 2 layers would seem uncomfortable to me. Order larger
than your normal size because they are tight!

I have not tried it yet, I’ve only worn a short sleeve under armor shirt under this jacket. It’s pretty tight in the fore arms so I would say it would be difficult.– Steve

Not with the sizing I have. The jacket is a tight fit. So is the shirt.

No. It's too tight for an LS shirt.

I use my Hydroskin jacket as my base layer. The fit on my jacket is pretty
tight and it would be tough to comfortably wear anything underneath it.

I wear mine over a long-sleeve rash guard, very tight. You probably can but not sure about comfort.
