Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens just can't compete with the stretchy Polartec® fleece of our NRS WaveLite™ line. This versatile thermal underlayer retains body heat while wicking moisture away from your skin.
  • Polartec® Power Stretch® wraps you in body-hugging four-way stretch that provides excellent mobility, plus warmth and comfort.
  • Polartec is the industry leader in performance layering fabrics. "Touch points" on the inner surface wick moisture quickly and pass it out to evaporate rapidly, keeping you dry when you play hard.
  • This superior fabric has great "memory" for holding its original shape and you'll like that the outer surface doesn't pill.
  • Form-fitting design allows layering without the added bulk of other mid-weight tops.

Does this keep you warm if it gets wet?

      A:

Yes, this shirt will help keep you warm if it gets wet. It does dry quickly.. We use them on cool foggy, misty days paddling outrigger canoes on the ocean in Santa Cruz, and on the American river in the spring while rafting whitewater. It is good for cooler weather as it is a little thicker. If it were wet and windy I would wear a splash jacket over it.

It would function like any fleece, I think, so no. I'm going to use mine
      under a drysuit.

No. It is made as a layering garment to be worn under a splash jacket or
      dry top.

      A:

The fibers in Polartec fabric don't absorb water and they will dry quickly. It will still hold in some warmth when it gets wet, but won't perform like a neoprene top. In wet conditions it's better used as a layering piece under a waterproof, or resistant, outer garment.

Yes, this keeps you warm when wet. I managed to misplace my first one, and quickly ordered a new one to replace it!

Love the wavelite baselayers. I have been using these garnets for the past few years and couldn't be happier. Used as a baselayer under drytop and drysuit during winter whitewater kayaking, also use as a regular layer when in cold water, and as baselayer for Hiking during winter months. overall great product and would highly recommend.

Comments about NRS Women's WaveLite Shirt - Polartec - Closeout:

I love this shirt - I have had one for several years that I use for cold weather work/kayaking and was spending the summer/fall working in Alaska so bought another. So warm and comfortable, holds up well under field work conditions.

Fit is the usual NRS tight so consider getting a size larger than you normally wear.
