  • Aquapac Mini Camera with Hard Lens Case - 428 - Closeout

    Q:

Question for "eidaho". I too have a Panasonic ZS7. Did you mean the case extension must be held out while zooming (meaning the camera lens will not push out into the bellows area without some help)? Also, is the hard cover piece over the lens glass or plastic and will auto-focus work through this cover?

Sorry my reply has been delayed, we were on a cruise and just returned. We snorkeled in the Caribbean and both my wife and I used the camera bags with great success. Yes, you do have to guide the camera lens as it pushes into the bellows. It does take some work, although not too difficult. Suggest that you do not remove the camera from the “bag” until you are on dry land and away from beach areas tp avoid getting sand into the opening, which will cause leakage problems.
Hope this info has helped you.

If you get the camera lens lined up with that part of the case, it works fine zooming in and out.  The cover piece is plastic but I didn't have any trouble with the auto-focus.  Seems to have taken good pictures.

Aquapac reports that the ZS7 will fit in this case. There is ~ 2" of zoom that the case will allow and the case is quite flexible. As to the auto focus, they say they don't see a reason it won't work, but it may take some practice to get it dialed in. The hard lens port is tough acrylic plastic.

Don't know - I had a Lumix - camera case did not work well, still let sand
in and camera was almost ruined and was not easy to use when in the case.
It may have been a bad fit, but too hard to judge from an add. I would try
it in person with the exact camera and try the fit.

I checked with Aquapac and this case is just a bit small for the FinePix. You might look at their Large Camera Case, Item # 55324.02.

I do not know if the unit will fit the Fuji camera.  I have only used it with a Sony DSC-HX9V.  It worked fine with that camera.

Denis, I checked with Aquapac and that camera is a bit too big for this case. It will fit in Large Camera Case - 448, Item # 28732.

Didn't work well for a Panasonic Lumix ZS7. Lenses that come out of the
camera base when turned on need to be manually held in place until the lens
is fully extended. I had a problem with the difficulty in the closure do
dads too. It was waterproof, but too hard to take quick shots while on the
raft and rowing because of the above.
Was not a good fit for my camera and is the risk with buying anything from a
catalog without information like user feedback or getting to try one out
first (the best way) before you buy. Being in a remote location, I have to
choose carefully, then still get burned once and a while.
      Good luck.

It was too small for a Nikon Coolpix P500. I would have had to go to the
next size up which is for a full SLR camera. My in not a full SLR, but it is
too large for this case. Bummer. I was not willing to pay the extra $ for
the SLR case. So compare you Canon Powershot to the Nikon. Hope this helps.

Comments about Aquapac Mini Camera with Hard Lens Case - 428 - Closeout:

The Aquapak is rather expensive for essentially a plastic bag but I am glad to have it. My camera is much costlier and I was missing wild water pictures without it.
