About Me Professional

Comments about NRS Deluxe Touring Safety Kit:

With use, the pump cannot be pulled out when the handle is pushed in. It gets so tight that it does not work. I have one and it its stuck so that the handle cannot be pulled out.

  • Easy Deployment
  • Easy To Attach
  • High quality

  • Pump Could Use Filter

Best Uses

Comments about NRS Deluxe Touring Safety Kit:

The products in this kit are as good as I've seen individually or as a collection. The two chamber paddle float was easy to deploy and functioned flawlessly.
My only comment is with the ability of the pump to clog is there's debris in the water. I capsized in shallow water with a sizeable quantity of water plants and debris. The pump tended to clog on the debris that a pre-screen filter could have prevented or minimized. Design trade-offs I guess.

Comments about NRS Deluxe Touring Safety Kit:

This is a nice kit for the money. I purchased this for my wifes Kayak which works well for her. I think the bag could be a little more functional and the sponge more durable.

    • One kit has it all

      Best Uses

      • Anytime on the water

Comments about NRS Deluxe Touring Safety Kit:

Just having this is a buffer for the unknown.
I have used the paddle float to practice getting back into my Kayak, I didn't realize how challenging it would have been had I NOT had my paddle float on my deck! afterward, the amount of water inside would have made for a long trip back, so the pump evacuated the water nicely.

This product can also help other novice paddlers learn about safety.

How to use "Arch Support Plastic Insert" ?
Asked on 8/2/2013 by Yefim from United States

You can see the white edge of the support insert in the opening of the Mesh Deck Bag. The insert is slipped inside the bag to keep the top arched up for easy access to the contents.

Answered on 8/2/2013 by Clyde from NRS

The plastic insert is simply just there to give the bag form, I'm guessing
to make it easier to get the equipment you need, and provide some structure
to the bag. To be honest I do not use the deck bag itself too often since
my kayak has storage holds, but I do strap the rescue pump to the deck
using the elastic webbing that is already built on to the kayak. As for
using the plastic insert you can help form it by bending it a little, or
you can just leave it flat on the bottom of the bag. It is really up to to
on how you want to use it. The plastic support doesn't serve as an actual
rescue item, but I'm sure it could provide some uses in a survival
situation, as a possible signal device, cutting surface, splint, funnel,
and really what ever you can think of. I hope that helps you out.
