Comments about NRS PFD Hydration Pack Anti-Microbial Replacement Bladder:

I use this for biking and it works well as most bladders do. I fit into the original North Peak back pack and was reasonably priced.

Good service from the vendor.

Comments about NRS PFD Hydration Pack Anti-Microbial Replacement Bladder:

This hydration bladder is a replacement for the original bladder that came with my hydration backpack. The backpack attaches to the back of my PFD and is my primary water source while paddling my sea kayak. The original bladder's bite valve started leaking and was difficult to clean. So far, the replacement bladder seems like an improvement with a different bite valve that seems to seal out sea water better and yet is easy to use. The replacement bladder fits the backpack slightly better than the original bladder did. All in all, I am very happy with it.

Comments about NRS PFD Hydration Pack Anti-Microbial Replacement Bladder:

Needed a replacement bladder (yes, waited far too long to replace mine) and love this one. The tube securely keeps water from leaking and the bladder's anti-microbial material is comfortable and easy to care for.

I think it is the same as any water bladder. A small amount of bleach mixed
with water. I am not sure of the exact proportions but I think you can just
google it. Most important is making sure it is completely dried out. I take
mine apart and hang it upside down and put paper towels in the bottom to
suck up the remnant water that doesn¹t drain. Unscrew the bite valve so the
water drains freely from the tube and hang that to drain/dry as well.

I filled the bladder with warm water, and then dropped in some water
purification tablets (following the directions for number of tablets/quart).
I let it sit for about an hour.

Scott, often all you need to do is rinse the bladder and hose with fresh water and dry it thoroughly between uses. If it gets funky, a bit of bleach, add say half a teaspoon and fill the bag with cold water. Let the solution set in the bag, and don't forget the hose, for at least a minute. Then rinse it well with warm water. Again, drying it well is very important. Hang it upside down and use a paper towel to get out any water that doesn't drain out.

I make sure after every use to rinse, and most importantly insert specially designed plastic piece that allows complete drying (keeps plastic walls from sticking to each other).

          Q:

Hello, I have an Austalian PFD made with a pocket on the back for a hydration bladder. The pocket is about 6.5 inches wide and about 13 inches deep. Will this bladder fit my PFD ? I have a "dromedary"Back with a 70 oz bladder and the bladder is too wide to fit my PFD. Thanks !

Unfilled the bladder is 6"W x 15"L, so I think it will work in your life jacket.
