Commonly heard complaints from boaters are "My wetshoes dry slowly" and "My shoes really stink." The problems are related. Neoprene shoes don't "breathe" so moisture escapes slowly unless you work to eliminate it. And bacteria and other microorganisms in the water and from your feet can generate odors in those moist conditions. This video shows how to clean and dry watershoes to head off odor. And if stinky shoes happen, we show how to eliminate it.

I usually wear an 8 in women's shoes but bought a 10 based on reviews. The boot fits the foot well in the larger size. However, I have muscular calves so it is a very tight fit on them. I'm glad there is a velcro tap at the top of the zipper to keep it from unzipping. The boots are soft on the inside so no need to wear socks. I always put my kayak in deeper water then ankle level so water pours into the boot from the top but my feet remain warm after the initial dunking. I expect to wear the boots through the fall but I don't think they will be warm enough for winter or spring thaw paddling. I'm overall pleased to have them. The soles are thick enough to walk over rough ground/rocks so that me feet are protected. I don't get dirt sifting into them during portage.

I ordered two water boots from NRS: Boundary and women's paddle shoes. I kept the Boundary (left comment on that site), and returned the women's paddle shoes. I wear a size 8.5, and had ordered a 9 in both boot types. The boundary fit fine (with room for a hikiing sock), but the paddle shoes without a sock had my toes hitting the front of the shoe. What I didn't expect was for the top of the paddle shoe to be so tight. Unless you have the ankle/calf of a 6 year old, don't expect the zipper to zip without cutting off your blood supply. It's too bad as it's a well-constructed boot, just not configured to a woman's leg anatomy. Lest you think, I'm very overweight, I am not. I'm probably under average weight for a mature woman.
The return policy for NRS was very good. No issues with that at all. In fact, had I not read the reviews on this site stating the good rapport that NRS has with returns, I wouldn't have ordered anything.
I have an intense dislike for ordering any clothes/footwear on line that I haven't tried on previously or know that I can do a no-hassle return.
I'm quite pleased with the Boundary boot, and NRS in general.

I bought these for my daughter. She has used them for boating/wading in Minnesota chilly water this spring, and they have kept her feet warm. I just wish they had more traction for climbing out of rocky water.

Comments about NRS Women's Paddle Wetshoe - Closeout:

I love these.I can go ankle deep in water with none getting in. Any deeper than that a little comes in, but it's not any extreme amount. You couldn't even take them off and dump water out. Very very warm. I wear a size 8 and I ordered a size 10 so I could also wear a pair of socks with them too. They are comfortable without socks even though they are a bit big.
If you wear an 8 go with a 9 or 10. If you wear an 8.5-9 go with 10 with you wear a 9.5 go with an 11. Even a 9 would want to get an 11 if you want to layer something under the boots.

These do dry VERY slowly. took a few days.
I sit have any problem with them around the calf like some people do. I don't have far calves I do however have fit calves.

      Service and delivery comments:

I bought these on a Saturday so I could have them by next saturday at the latest. I really needed them by Friday though Well Wednesday came around and I realized I never got a shipping notification so I called them Becuase they should have shipped in monday. Well they were EXTREMELY nice and the problem was on their end something happened with their system and so they over nighter me a pair to get to me on friday! No extra cost to me.

Comments about NRS Women's Paddle Wetshoe - Closeout:

I was so looking forward to getting my NRS shoes in the mail and use them for my next paddle. And then was majorly disappointed. The sizing on these shows is several sizes off. I ordered both an 8 and 9; and usually wear an 8 in most of my shoes. The 8 was impossible to even get on my feet. I barely squeezed into the 9, and they were so tight - it was unbearable. I am not sure who developed the sizing chart for the women shoes nor for what type of built these shoes are made. I have very regular legs with thin ankles and they were cutting into my ankle.

Needless to say - I had send them back. And will now order a men's shoe.

I strongly suggest that NRS looks at the sizing and adapts it to market standards.
