Commonly heard complaints from boaters are "My wetshoes dry slowly" and "My shoes really stink." The problems are related. Neoprene shoes don't "breathe" so moisture escapes slowly unless you work to eliminate it. And bacteria and other microorganisms in the water and from your feet can generate odors in those moist conditions. This video shows how to clean and dry watershoes to head off odor. And if stinky shoes happen, we show how to eliminate it.

I purchased these for use while rafting and they were just what I was looking for. I originally purchased the Kicker Remix but I found them to be a bit bulkier than I was looking for. The Remix is much lighter and easier to tuck your feet into small spaces. They have a great soul on them which allows for walking on rocks and have a great grip. I am a female and wear a size 9 shoe. I purchased these in a size 9 and they fit perfectly. If you are buying these for a male you will definately need to order up a size or two.

Comments about NRS Kinetic Water Shoe:

Utilize product for kayaking if FL canals against submerged coral, shells, rocks, etc. Very comfortable to wear, although somewhat difficult to put on and take off each time due to the protection that they offer.

This is my second pair, and all aspects of delivery, payment, and quality were first rate.

I ended up exchanging for one size larger than I usually wear. Exchange was fast although it required a phone call to get size right. NRS took care of me.
The last NRS shoes I had, had Velcro straps across the instep which kept them secure in white water- remains to be seen how this new pair performs.

The material seems a little thinner than the other pair of water boots I
have, but it's still going to take a day or so for them to completely
dry. They definitely don't dry as quickly as the thin (2mm) neoprene
                    wet socks I have.

Depending on if you put it in the sun ad/or wind. And ambient humidity, here in south Florida things don't ever dry.
It actually dries a bit faster than most neoprene booties, but hey, neoprene is DESIGNED to absorb and hold water.
You could force dry it in a day, but passive drying would probably take 3 days. (Or, only a few hours in Phoenix. lol)
I use it to scuba dive with strap fins, and it's my favorite diving bootie, I love it

They don't have drainage holes (bad feature) so your feet stay wet once
they have water in them. They will dry pretty well in an hour or two in
the dry New Mexico climate. They keep your feet warm even if they are
wet. *If it's cold I wear the NRS titanium socks for insulation.*

You can hang outside on a fence post in the sun. I put them downstairs by a
dehumidifier. Never timed how long to dry. Usually use mine every few days
                    and they are dry.

The short answer is not quickly; however, my experience is urban - I take a
train to get to my kayak and then back home afterward, so I have them on
for about four hours. I love them because I am comfortable wearing them as
sneakers on the streets, subway and train, paddle my surfski without having
to change shoes and on the way back home. I think they might dry more
quickly if one were to stay out in the sun and breeze. The other however is
that even though they stay moist, they do not feel squishy or clammy or
loose, and my feet are not all puckered when I take them off so I guess you
could say they breathe. You don't even notice that they're moist. They are a
snug fit so take that into consideration when ordering - I bought some thin
smartwool ankle socks for when I want socks because they are otherwise too
snug. They dry well, keeping their shape after I use a dilute bleach spray
and rinse to prevent saltwater funk. As a bonus, the blue laces are a hit
with the millennials on the street.

I would think you would need a size 14 or better. Depending on the shoe, i wear a size 11-12. I have several Kinetic shoes in size 13. I tried the the sizes of 12 and found them to be tight. I have a wide foot so that might be why. Going a size up helped me out with a better fit.

Yes, I have run whitewater in my NRS inflatable kayak and they were
perfect! I also hiked several miles in them during a river break and they
were comfortable, protected my feet, had support and didn't show any wear.
I have also floated through rapids (after getting dumped) and they worked
well for me. I used them on a paddle board last weekend and they were
great. I would always wear a life jacket while wearing any kind of water
shoe although you can get used to swimming with these on without a life
                    jacket.

                    Aloha,
I'm sure these will "do" just fine; however, since this is your first time,
perhaps you may want a different type of water shoe that could be used for
                    other activities as well.
I'm sure you'll love river rafting (no matter how the day evolves)… the
weather, the environment, the history, the camaraderie, the food, and most
of all the wondrous nature of your GUIDE(s)… I'm sure you will go rafting
as often as you can… you will become addicted… you can't help it…
Take a look at other water shoes/sandals… (KEEN…CHACO…TEVA…MERREL…. etc.)
so many choices; so little time… I personally believe a shoe should be
comfortable all day, any terrain; any type of water; any bar or restaurant
that follows these activities without having to change your wardrobe (let
                    alone your "shoes")…
When in doubt… check out what your "guide(s)" wear(s)… probably works
                    pretty well for them…
                    Best of luck

I don't know a whole lot about river rafting, I've done it twice. Seems to me there was more footwork, out of the boat, involved and not the premium on space, like inside a kayak. Love the Kinetic but for river rafting I would go with a more substantial shoe/sole. If I got bounced out of the raft or was trying to yank it to shore I'd want a thicker sole. Have fun.

They are probably okay for an easy raft trip, say class III. for more challenging rivers, I would recommend a water shoe with a very soft sole, Salomon and others make several. You want straps, so your shoes will not be pulled off if you end up in the water.

The Kinetic has a thinner sole allowing your foot to fit into tight spaces. For rafting, a shoe with a more substantial sole would be better. For a low-top water shoe, take a look at the Kicker or Kicker Remix. If the water is warm a sandal like Chacos or Keens will be a good choice.

                    Good Day,
Depends on what you are planning to do.
If you are rafting on some casual white water (class 1) and won't need to do
a lot of scouting or climb up and down steep banks repeatedly then these
would be a good shoe for you.
If rafting class 2+ and needing to do some lining, a lot of scouting on
steep banks or portaging boats and gear, then I would look at one of the NRS
                    paddling boots.

I didn’t know there was a difference in sizing between men and women shoe sizes. I wear a men’s 10.5 so I ordered the 11 and was very happy. I looked it up for you and you should subtract two sizes from your women’s size to find the equal in a man’s shoe. Your size is an 8 so you should choose a 6 in a man’s shoe. NRS has an excellent return/exchange policy.

I ordered a size 8 for BOTH water shoes and they fit perfectly! When I first ordered the Men's Kicker Remix I ordered the next smaller size (as the instructions stated), but ended up sending them back, as my toes were bent against the front. So what I saved on the sale, I lost in shipping fees when returning them. Stay with your true size!

                    Good Day,
I'm a male with narrow feet and wear a 9.5 Merrell Moab Ventilator regular
trail shoe and the ventilator fits like a glove for hiking (this is only for
                    fit comparison).
The same shoe you are looking to buy I were a size 10 and normally were a
9.5 shoe. My big toe just touches the end of the shoe. The shoes are a
little loose on the sides for me but the fit is very comfortable.
You should be ok going up to the next full size, so if you wear a 9.5 you
would wear a 10 in this shoe. If you are closer to an 11 in a regular shoe
You might want to think about going to a 12 if you portage a lot and have
issues with bruising your toe nails.
