Q:How does this fit onto my board ? thank you. Do you need to have anything special on your board to make this work ? thanksAsked on 2/14/2017 by Drew from Orlando, FL
A:Drew, if you have a hard board you can screw this directly onto it. If it's an inflatable, first glue on this mount - http://www.nrs.com/product/4332/scotty-glue-on-mount-pad-341 - Most inflatable board materials are PVC coated. Q:I'm thinking about screwing this down to the plywood deck on my raft and using it to mount my umbrella. What diameter shaft fits into it? Do you have another product that would work better for this? ThanksAsked on 10/9/2013 by Gary from Southern Calif.
A:Gary, the opening is 7/8" in diameter and depth is 1 3/4", Also, we can make you a holder with a LoPro and a short length of frame pipe. Give us a call, 800.635.5202Answered on 10/11/2013 by Clyde from NRS
A:In order to install an umbrella, you need two points: one on the floor of your boat - for which can be used the Scotty Mount 241, very strong staff - and a higher point, like a hole, or a bracket on your bench (if you have one), for the rod of the umbrella. From my experience, I can tell you, when the wind blows, the stress of umbrella rode can be very powerful! After a few unsuccessful attempts, I installed a bimini top, and I'm very happy.. I bought it from ebay, $ 135. I have an inflatable 12", ideal for fishing, with an engine Tohatsu 25 HP. I did a lot of improvements to my boat and the trailer, and I still have some ideas. If you are interested in DIY, please contact me, no problem.
Good luck, and see you on the water!
