Great PFD Strobe Light

By Sequim Jim

Comments about Princeton Tec Meridian Strobe Light:

I've been looking to replace an older safety light on my pfd for some time. The Meridian Strobe light is low profile, attaches securely to a pfd shoulder strap, and has a solid on/off switch to turn on a red light or white strobe. Only time will tell durability (hence 4-star rating), but the battery compartment has a solid fitting rubber gasket and screws at each corner. The local CG recommended a white strobe for visibility on the water...an essential part of your safety gear.

Service and delivery comments:

Prompt delivery and great service.

Comments about Princeton Tec Meridian Strobe Light:

I have two of these for padding in fall weather when the sun goes down before I am off the water. There are tons of salmon fisherman on the river, and many of them drink beer. To be safe, I attach one to the front of my PDF and one to the back so that I am clearly visible to all power boaters who are not looking for kayakers.

The strobes are very bright and I can see exactly when the other boaters notice me and steer a course away. A must have.

I need to change the batteries in this device but I am unable to open it. I have loosened all the screws but cannot open the unit. I have tried to gently pry it open without any success. Suggestions?

Make sure all screws are loose and gently pry on the tab opposite the on/off switch and the back will disengage

How would this strobe attach to a PFD ?

            A:

On each end, it has an oval ring with a split in the middle, through which you can thread a PFD's
shoulder strap. In addition, it comes with a Velcro strap useful for alternative sites/methods of
            attachment.
