The Carve M mid-sized blade will fit the widest range of paddler. It offers the perfect combination of light weight and durability and is ideal for all types of stand up paddling. The 2-Piece Adjustable is compact for transport and storage.
  • Progressive mid-size rectangular blade allows for incremental power with less immediate catch for an easier, gentler feel on the body.
  • Carbon-blend shaft is lightweight and optimized for flex and strength.
  • The translucent fiberglass laminate blade has a dihedral shape for smooth forward and directional paddling.
  • The custom shaped reinforcement spine in the blade enhances stiffness and overall strength.
  • Seven degree blade-to-shaft offset offers a great forward stroke while freeing the blade from catching while surfing.
  • Enhanced ABS palm grip is designed for maximum control and greater durability.
  • The adjustable shaft is perfect for those who move between touring and surfing. It adjusts with a button lock to six different lengths, in 1-1/2" increments. A total 7.5" adjustability.
  • For surf or whitewater paddling, choose a paddle 8" longer than your height.
  • For touring/racing or fitness and Yoga, choose a paddle 10" longer than your height.

Good travel flat water paddle

By TC

from Newport OR

Pros

    Cons

      Best Uses

Looking for an inexpensive quality travel paddle is tough. These guys did a reasonably good job for the money but don't let the name fool you..it is not a great surf paddle. The head is too small and flexy for quick starts and turns. It will be a great travel paddle for the touring board but upgrade to the Werner Spanker for surf play would be my call.

A great flat water SUP paddle

Comments about Werner Carve M 2 Piece Adjustable Stand Up Paddle:

We took this paddle on a 3-day SUP trip from Bluff to Mexican Hat on the San Juan. The paddle was light, adjustable, and felt great in the hands. We learned very quick that while this is a great flat water paddle, it is not nearly stiff enough for whitewater use. It was most apparent when stroking hard to make eddies and using an open-face bow draw. I would recommend going with the Werner Session SUP paddle for any paddling other than going out on a lake to do a yoga session.

Margaret, they are similar, with same blade shape. The Carve has a fiberglass/carbon blend shaft (Session's shaft is all fiberglass) and is a bit lighter than the Session.

The Werner video shows a choice of color for the blade. I don't see it on the order "option"

Tom, Werner does give the option to pick different paddle colors. We carry this paddle with the single color option. A custom order paddle is another option.

Don, if you mean making it a two blade paddle, the answer is no. You can do that with the Carlisle Taboo, Item # 75012.01.
