Convert your oar-powered raft to a motor boat by using a pair of NRS Stern Side Rails to connect our Motor Mount to your raft frame. Great for fishing or those slow, flatwater stretches.
  • Made with our standard NRS Frame Pipe, 1-5/8" OD 6061-T6 aluminum pipe, complete with LoPro Fittings (including U-bolts).
  • Use a pair of these Stern Side Rails to connect the NRS Raft Motor Mount to your raft frame.
  • We stock three sizes of these rails. The Small sizes usually work best for 54" or narrower frames. The Large, for 60" and wider frames. We've added the Small - 39" version for AIRE Puma rafts, which take 48" or 54" wide frames and need the longer stern rails. Measure the distance from the center of your stern crossbar to the center of the raft's rear tube. See the rail measurements in Frame Part Specs, linked there in the More Information section. If one of these lengths doesn't work for you, contact us for a custom length.
  • The heart of the NRS frame system, the LoPro™ Fitting, just went high tech! Now made in drop-forged aluminum alloy; it's stronger and 25% lighter. Better product, same price... NRS innovation.

  • NRS Motor Mount Stern Side Rails

Could just one of these stern side rails be used to mount an anchor system? I'm trying to set up an anchor without putting a rear seat on my raft.

Don't see why not. It'll be a custom order, so you'll need to call in to place that order. You might also need a small section of pipe (1-2') to attach the rear anchor arm pulley.

What size do I need if mounting on am Aire 156R?

Not really sure but the measurement instructions on the NRS site worked for us. We have a 14' NRS expedition and ordered the longer bars (36" I think).
worked great for our boat and frame setup.
      Good luck.

Bert, Measure the distance from the center of your stern crossbar to the center of the raft's rear tube. If one of our stock sizes does not work for you, we'll bend some custom ones at no extra cost.
