Comments about NRS Men's HydroSkin 0.5 Pants:
The NRS Hydroskins ARE THE BEST!!! I have worn, drysuits, wetsuits, wool, fleece, etc. etc. for > 30 years and for intermediate conditions where you don't need a full drysuit or wetsuit, these pants are awesome. They provide just the right amount of warmth and coolness on days when the water is between 50 and 80 and air temp is 40 to 85. I have worn them on early summer trips on the Salt River in AZ when you have thought they would be too warm, but they were perfect. I also use them on rivers in ID, UT, CO, NM, AZ, and WY when it is raining or cool and I might be in the water. Just get them wet every now and then and they were great. I have warn them for SUP and surf sessions in Mexico and Hawaii. If you are submersed in cold water (<55 deg) you will want a warmer drysuit or wetsuit, but for mid-range conditions these are the BEST. The only problem I have seen with them is that they can get kind of "baggy" when you are in the water and they fill up. The reason is that they are pretty soft and "springy" so when you get water in them they expand a little. But to fix that they would have to be heavier neoprene. I will take the baggyness when wet over the weight and constriction.
I recommended these to many friends after they saw how nice they were and all of them love them for the same reason. One of them is a gal that really likes to be comfortable all the time and she has said they are the best water-wear clothes she owns--no small compliment coming from her.
