Comments about Padz Kayak Seat Pad:

So far the pad is a welcome addition to my Current Designs Solstice GT... I installed it, and then immediately took it on a 26 mile one day adventure, so it really got a work out, and ensured it firmly bonded with the seat without needing additional glue.

Comments about Padz Kayak Seat Pad:

I bought the Padz kayak seat for my RTM Disco. The Padz seat fits perfectly and because it is so thin, it does not affect the center of gravity. Not only does the Padz seat offer improved comfort, becasue of its non slip texture of the closed cell foam, I have much better control over the boat for edging and turning. My butt does not slide around any more when the seat gets wet, which it always does. This seat is pefect for adding cushion and grip to any hard surface kayak seat. It is not mushy or soft so you have great support with just enough give to provide hours of paddling comfort.

                Q:

elementary question: in a surfski, does the wide part of this pad go toward the stern or toward the feet?

                • A:

I've used this seat pad in 3 whitewater kayaks and can tell you that you should install this with the wide part towards the bow end. Think about your "bottom" when you are sitting in your boat...your knees are opened and that is going to spread your "cheeks" and hips out as well.

                  Hi
The wider part of the pad faces the front of the boat (toward the feet).
                  Thanks

I'm getting conflicting answers from the kayakers here at NRS. My advice is before you peel the backing off the self adhesive, experiment to see which way feels more comfortable!

No it would go toward the stern. It's shaped that way to fit your anatomy.
