Comments about NRS Big Basin Water Container:

We've had these pails for about 7 years now. They've been to Burning Man five times, countless river trips and don't stop. Pack into the Kitchen Box on top every trip we go on. I would recommend two, one for wash and one for rinse.

Much better quality than other collapsible sinks

Comments about NRS Big Basin Water Container:

Large bucket good for dishes, bathing, storage. Folds up reasonably tight. Does not collapse like other outdoor sinks. Worth the money.

Great to have along on a river trip-- Big enough to load up from your cooler and dry box and leave the heavy stuff on the Raft--- then great for doing dishes

          • NRS Big Basin Water Container

            Q:

Is this suitable for doing dishes with *hot* water? Also, does bleach have any effect on the material?

              A:

Sorry can't help with your specific criteria but I can say the bucket is
extremely well constructed and it's rigidity is impressive for a
              collapsible design.
I use mine for crabbing, large dish cleaning and infrequently for extra
drinks and ice on the boat.

It will handle water at the temperature you'll do dishes. And the dilute bleach solution you'll use for sanitizing dishes will cause no problems.

Yes, works well with hot water.
Have not tried bleach in the material. However, it is made of a similar
material to NRS rafts so I would imagine a mild bleach solution would work
              fine.

            Q:

Is the top ring collapsible, or does it have to fit into at least a 16" diameter area for storage? I'm assuming as well that it stays up by itself when it's filled?

              A:

The top ring is flexible so you can put it in different sizes of "storage containers" Yes it stays up when filled, I've had other ones without the top ring and they don't stay up on their own very well.

The top ring is collapsible. It rolls up into a tube and store it in the provided mesh bag.
They do stand up when full.
