The NRS Super Stretch Neoprene Cockpit cover stretches over your kayak's cockpit to keep out weather, debris and critters. Super stretchy neoprene and an adjustable shock cord make it a snap to install on any kayak.
  • Two sizes fit all! The stretchy, adjustable Stretch Neoprene Cockpit Cover fits a huge range of kayak cockpit sizes. Just choose large or small.
  • Smooth-skin 1 mm neoprene sheds water and resists abrasion for long-lasting protection.
  • The shock cord band adjusts to snugly fit your kayak's cockpit combing. Tying a simple knot is all it takes!
  • Important Note: When placing cover on cockpits at the upper end of the two size ranges, it can be a tight fit. Leave the cover on the boat for at least 24 hours to let it stretch a bit and it should be easier to put it on the next time.

The NRS Super Stretch Cover will work for your boat. The universal plus size will fit a cockpit with up to a 57" length, and this cover can be tightened.

      A:

The super stretch is the "only" cover that will fit 120. The cockpit size is the same as my 140. My only suggestion is to only use this for transport or you will rapidly have problems. Due to it fitting extremely tight it can't take sun, rain, ect. Take it off once you get where you are going. NRS needs to make this cover slightly larger, if you have a problem call NRS and make yourself heard. I don't understand why they haven't corrected this since the Pungo family is one of most purchased series of boats. Hopefully not up the creek.... George

I have an Ascend FS10, cockpit measures 25" x 52". I bought the Universal Plus. It fits great, however it's a 2 person job. The more you put it on and stretch it, the easier it becomes. I put it on for long road trips as my boat is on top of the car sideways. It also works nicely to keep the critters out when storing.

My kayaks are 22.5” by 47”. As far as the length, it will be fine. Yours is 3.5” wider than mine. I found a scrape 2x4 (3.5” wide) that is 8.5” long. I put the cover on and was able to insert the 2x4 under the cover at the widest part. I am pretty sure it will fit your kayak too.

  • NRS Super Stretch Neoprene Cockpit Cover

    Q:

I see from the description that the cover sheds water. Does that mean the cover is water resistant or waterproof? For example, if the boat is setting outside in the rain and in the upright position with the cover snug, will the cover eventually allow water to seep in or block it completely?
Asked on 6/15/2013 by Bake at the Lake from Ohio

    • VERIFIED BUYER

      A:

The Neoprene Cover does seep a little water even when the boat is stored on its side, regardless of how snug the cover is. If you are looking for a cover that will not seep at all, the NRS Deluxe Cockpit Cover is the better choice. The Deluxe Cover also seems to be more secure during transport as it has a better overall fit around the edge the cockpit because of the nylon fabric.

I never let my boat sit out for more than a few days with the cockpit cover

its side or upside down on racks and it works great this way.

Snug is only so snug, eventually it will belly and let water in. You also wouldn't want to try keep anything really dry inside.

Unfortunately, this cover does allow rain to get into my cockpit. I store my boat in J racks mounted on the back of my garage, so it's more on its side than upright, so maybe that's got something to do with it. This surprises me a bit because the cover fits very snugly.

It depends on the length of the cockpit. The larger cockpit need the universal plus. All you need to do is measure your cockpit from front to back and see which one you need.

I have two Bass Pro Ascend D10 kayaks first generation that have 25" X 52" cockpit's.The Universal Plus cover's fit my kayak's.They are tricky to install on my kayak's due to the cockpit size.It may take two people to install.. The only thing that I would change about the cover's if they were 1" longer and wider at least for my Ascend kayak's.

The size of the opening you need to cover determines which one you want..  We bought both sizes because we have 2 kayaks and one has a bigger opening.  Universal plus is larger.

Universal is for 28" - 40" length cockpits and the Plus is for 40" - 57".

      A:

The difference is simply the size of the cockpit the item will accommodate.
The universal plus will fit the larger size cockpit: 40"-57" length of
      cockpit.

I bought this as a gift for my boyfriends Liquid Logic XP10. His cockpit was just on the upper edge of the smaller size so I went with this and it fits perfect. Seem's really snug although it hasn't been on while driving yet. It's been doing a great job of keeping the snow & ice out of the boat between trips this winter. getting one for myself for those overnight trips to keep out any critters!

I thought this would be the perfect cover for he oversize cockpit on my kayak. However, after only 2 weeks of use the rubber coating on the neoprene has started wearing off. It gets all over my hands when I put the cover on. Also the elastic bungees used to secure the cover could be a little longer as they are almost too short to tie. Water also pools in the top when it rains and caused the cover to come off.

I purchased this product for my 3 kayaks that are stored on my trailer year around and they work great. They are exposed to the elements all year and these cockpit covers seem to hold up and protect from weather and critters. I had to adjust them a few times due to stretch but easy to fix with the cord.
