NRS builds better versions than this

About Me Advanced

Comments about NRS Kayak Bilge Pump:

NRS makes great stuff, so I was shocked when this (yes, low cost) pump worked for two pumps and then broke. To make things worse, it could not be repaired since the "rust resistant" screws seem to only be for looks: The pump does not disassemble! Will buy one of their better ones next time. You get what you pay for.

I own this pump, and it has sand in the barrel. I'm not sure how to dismantle it to clean it out. Any suggestions?

The pumps cannot be dismantled. Try inverting the pump while submerging it
completely and pumping that should get the sand out. hopefully the pump
barrel won't be scratched from the sand.

      Hi NRS-

What is the OD on the fitting where the water exits on top?
I'm trying to buy a flexible hose and need the OD size-

The O.D. of the discharge is 1". It gets a little wider with the ribs to
hold on the hose but a 1" I.D. hose would be the right size.

        It's 1-inch. The barb OD is 1-1/8th.

Chris, a hose with 1 1/8" ID will give a snug fit. The fitting has a "barbed" exterior for a good grip.
