- Carlson Pump Rubber O-ring
Q:How do you lubricate an older Carlson pump/ eith an O ring?

A:Pull up on the pump handle until it comes off. There is a round plate
there with an rubber o-ring around it. Put grease (waterproof grease
recommended) around the top of the pump tube, and some on the ring itself.
Carefully place the o-ring evenly around the plate, try the pump slowly,
and if it works it works. If not, the o-ring has slid off and you have to
place it on again. Having it slide off is not unusual and it will take
several attempts. Well, if you're me, more than several. Not sure if that
answers your question.

A:I use the same grease as I use for my trailer bearings. Clean it out
inside, then rub some grease around.Answered on 7/16/2013 by Anonymous

A:David, use blue marine lithium grease. If you can't find that, use the white lithium grease.Answered on 7/15/2013 by Clyde from NRS
