It it not that big of a motor so it should work.

Honda says the EU1000i model puts out 8.3 amps at the 1000W output. The Big Blower calls for 8 amps, so you're right on the edge.

I do not know from experience with a generator. I think it will work.
I have used the 110 outlet on my Toyota JF and it works with a little less power but enough to inflate my 14’ NRS raft to about 1.5 psi.

I have a Honda 2000W generator that seems to handle it just fine without even trying. I have also hooked it to my solar system with a 250 watt inverter and it works, but the blower struggles to get started. Thats my 2 cents.

You betcha! A top-off pump may be nice to reach higher PSI especially for the SUP board.

I just used the pump this weekend. I use it much more often than I originally anticipated, and have come to rely on it. I love it.
It is a bit loud however. It is a good tool, but, is certainly not quiet. It sounds like the Kirby vacuum cleaner my mom made the dog crazy with in the 70's. I like the pump.

The noise level is about the same and not more than any shop vac.
This is a great pump. A little pricey but beats the little car battery and hand pumps by far.

    Q:

I'd like to get one of these pumps. My Tacoma has an electrical outlet in the bed. It says 115 volt and up to 400 watts. Will this work for this pump or will I need some other outlet? thanks

      A:

I don't believe it will work. The 400 watt maximum on his Tacoma translates
into 3.33 amps. The spec on the pump is 8 amps. Sorry.

Jeff, sounds like that would work. The pump has a regular household 120V plug on the cord.

      A:

Your internal power supply is not big enough for the blower. You need a 1000 watt inverter hooked to your battery to power it properly.  Anything less has a hard time and will not inflate as well or keep powering down.

              Comments about Big Blower Pump:

It is a great long lasting machine. We have two of them for our rafting company. However, as they age, they have two foam gaskets that will eventually need to be replaced. These gaskets, while not expensive, are a huge pain to install. Rather than unscrewing wire connections, the wires must be cut. They are short and and hard to reach to re-splice as they are located in the funnel shaped housing at the top of the blower.

That being said, when they work (several years before we had problems) they work great!
