This boat sponge works to remove that unwanted pool of water that manages to collect under your kayak spray skirt. The Deluxe Boat Sponge can absorb up to 24 ounces of water at a time. Paddling in whitewater or the sea, this sponge will lift out sand and moisture from the bottom of your boat that traditional bilge pumps leave behind. It can be used with a bilge pump or on its own to keep your boat dry and clean.

This is the best boat sponge there is. I had one for two years and loved everything about it before I lost it in an off-shore capsize. I just bought two more. Before I could get the new ones, I had to borrow other paddlers' sponges, so I had a chance to try quite a few others. This one is best because it has a tough outer cover. So you can wring the sponge to get more water out without damaging the sponge. The tough cover constricts when you wring it to add a uniform twisting pressure to the entire sponge, so it protects the sponge from being twisted apart. The durable cover is slightly textured or waffled, so it picks up sand and other grit from the boat bottom and easily releases all the grit when you want to get it off the sponge. Also, it has a handy loop that allows you to clip it to the boat (if you use it) to prevent the sponge getting lost. I'm convinced this sponge holds more water (and retains it till squeezed) than any other I've tried. All around, it's worth the extra money and it's the only one to have.

Comments about NRS Deluxe Boat Sponge:

This is just a sponge, BUT unlike most sponges I can attach it somewhere in my boat and it is covered. Hopefully, this means that I won't lose it and that it wan't deteriorate at the same rate as most sponges.
I gave one to a friend who had lost a sponge in a recent swim.
