Comments about Beckson Thirsty-Mate Bilge Pump:

My first impression was it was very tall but that make it great for a day sailboat. I got a 3 " piece of plastic tubing at my hardware store and it fit perfectly on my kayak pump so I got two items for one.

      Service and delivery comments:

      excellent as always!

Comments about Beckson Thirsty-Mate Bilge Pump:

We use this pump on a 14 ft rigid inflatable boat for teaching and assisting sailboats off of our beach on Lake Michigan. There is no electric bilge on the boat so it is great to have an easy to use hand bilge that holds up to frequent use and is smooth and easy to use. Basic but very functional product.

Comments about Beckson Thirsty-Mate Bilge Pump:

Used for two trips on salmon river with my old bucket boat. Worked good. The hose tends to come off to easily. Would be good to have a strap loop so it could be tied down. Could get lost if washed overboard in a flip or big wave.

Comments about Beckson Thirsty-Mate Bilge Pump:

It works as advertised, and has a rating of 6 pumps per gallon. If you only have a few gallons of water to get rid of, this pump can help. I bought it to evacuate the water from capsized solo canoes, and in this situaton whether it's helpful or not depends on how much your flotation empties your boat when it's flipped. My wife's Advantage is a big boat, with minimal flotation and this pump was less useful than a home-make milk jug bailer. I'll still carry it in my Bell Magic, as the added flotation makes the pump's job a lot easier.
