For those who prefer to stand up every now and then. Constructed of high-strength woven mesh, our cargo floors are strong enough to stand on, and can support full coolers and extra gear.
  • The mesh drains quickly, so water won't pool up at your feet.
  • Integrated grommets at the front and back help keep the ends from sagging while adding spreader bars (sold separately) will allow you to put more weight on the floor without sagging in the middle.
  • They come in 4' and 6' lengths, and fit between the lower rails on a 72" single-tube, yoke-style cat frames.
  • Mesh floor section is 34" wide and either 4' or 6' long. When the floor is on the lower rails and stretched taut, the rails are 40.5" apart from their outside-to-outside.
This floor will also fit the NRS Drop Side Rails, however, the floor ends up being a bit higher for your feet, which may interfere with rowing.

    Q:

What tube diameter will the loops fit?

Any experience with this as a oar area floor- does it deflect too much to stand on?

Loops fit on up to 2" diameter. Floor can be stood on, but will sag a
      little.

It will fit 2 inch diameter pipe. I am 198lbs and can stand up reasonable ok. I stand up most of the time close to the pipe so as to not sink the floor to much.

Jerry, the loops on the floors will accommodate up to 1.9" diameter pipe. The floor itself won't deflect that much, but long lower side rails will flex in with weight, causing a sag. Our Frame Spreader Bars, Item # 93001.01, help eliminate that flex.

It is sized for nrs frames which are 1 5/8 in. Could probably fit slightly larger.
I stand on mine all the time. Definitely reccomend the spreader bar though.

I use 2- 4' sections on my 16' Hyside cat. Somewhat of a modified frame
with 3 reinforced cross sections. I think the tube size is 2" but it is the
standard frame from NRS. The floors support a lot of weight, are flexible
to a degree, and hold my weight when I stand up on them.
I did have one issue and it is important. The ring straps that attach to
the frame are not at all UV protected. After a few years I broke the straps
most exposed with my weight. I have had new material wrapped over all of
them; replacing the broken ones and covering/reinforcing the good ones. It
may be useful to use a UV protectant coating of sorts or keep the craft out
of direct sunlight for long exposures.

I used 1/4 inch rope that I got from the climbing department of our local gear store.
I'm sure climbers have some special name for it, but I don't know it.

Rich, use rope made of synthetic fiber, something similar to 5-6 mm Prussic cord, Item # 45011.01.

Comments about NRS Cat Cargo Floors - 72" Frames:

The ring straps are not UV protected. Prolonged exposure resulting in failure. Keep out of direct sun light for long periods or use UV coating of some sort. I had new material sewn over the failed straps and remaining ones with a commericial tenting material.

Comments about NRS Cat Cargo Floors - 72" Frames:

Great floor at a fair price. I just replaced mine after 4 years of heavy summer usage.
The only problem is that I also ordered the 48" floor to create a 10 ft floor and the 48" version is a bit wider than the 72" and does not stretch tightly at all. Their awesome customer service rep said to return it for a new one though, so hopefully it was just a small glitch... Thanks NRS!

It's not a diamond plate floor, but for the price, it holds a lot of gear and weighs next to nothing.
