    Q:

I am 5'4" 123 lb 34B chest 27" waist. I ordered a small but it feels loose (esp. around the upper body) - my full 4/3 wetsuit is a lot snugger, should I exchange for a extra-small? I sort of enjoy the slightly looser fit and I will be using this on a SUP so I don't expect to be spending much time in the water so perhaps this is ok?

      I am a bit larger overall, 5'9", 130 lbs., 36" top, 30" waist, and I like
the way the small fits; maybe a bit snugger but still easy to get into. But
as the shopper said she won't be in the water all the time. I really liked
the wetsuit on our Grand Canyon raft trip last spring.

I'm 5'1" and 125 lbs. so my suit is just fine...but as an outrigger paddler on the water 6 days a week I would have enjoyed a little looser fit on top for upper body movement.

      I'm 5'2", 115 lb, 36B chest, and 28" waist. I found the XS to be a much
better fit than the Small, which was also quite loose on me. I also use the
suit for a SUP, and I've found the XS to be great. It's a properly-snug
fit, but completely comfortable for me--I don't feel restricted at all. I
don't know how comfortable I'd be in the loose Small, if it got wet. You
get free shipping both ways, so if I were you I'd hold on to the Small,
order the XS to try, and then send back whichever one doesn't work. Good
      luck!

We are same height and weight but I'm DD in chest. I bought a medium . Its a bit loose in upper chest but I wear a rash guard under and I like mobility. The bottom half fits perfect, snug but does not squeeze. If you go smaller you may find it's too snug on the bottom ? I wear mine to swim laps in a cool pool and it works great. I don't know what SUP is.. But my suit lets me be very active and I stay warm! I love my NRS wetsuit.

I'm 5'3 bust 40 waist 36 hips 40 weight 160. Would you recommend I order a Large or XL? I know it will be too long but, I want to make sure it will be comfortable and not too tight.

I don't have experience with those particular sizes, but I will say this in
the hopes that it helps: According to the sizing information linked below,
I was right in the middle of two sizes--but most of the parameters looked
like I should go with the larger of the two. It turned out, however, that
the larger size was too big and the smaller size was perfect.
Another point: NRS offers free shipping both ways, so why not order both
and return the one that doesn't work? =)

      Hi NRS Representative,
I'll try to help, but we're remodeling our house and things are piled up all over. I can't find my Little Jane to tell which size I bought. I hope you have a record of my purchases, to better advise the other customer. I think I ordered a large in 2 ml and in 3 ml (the 3 ml was on sale, I suddenly remember) and an XL in 2 ml thick. The size large 2 ml was perfect, so I returned the other two.
I'm 5'4", bust 39, waist 35, hips 40, and weight 140. We were going snorkeling in Palau, where the water and air are between 80 and 84 degrees always, so the 2 ml thickness was good, and thinner was more flexible. The main difference between the sizes that would be a potential problem was that the larger size had longer legs, which rubbed on the backs of my knees. I thought that would become very uncomfortable over time. Also, the leg openings were loose, so not functioning to keep water out. The main difference between our sizes is the weight. I don't know how that will change the fit. Maybe the leg openings wouldn't gape for her. If she is thinking of a 3 ml thickness, it will feel tighter and stiffer than the 2 ml.
I also purchased a full-body lycra suit from a local dive shop, which I think made a huge difference. It was relatively easy to get on, and made the wet suit much easier to get on and off. The size large wetsuit felt snug, but at 2 ml, it was flexible, and when wet, it felt much looser than when still dry. The Little Jane's "tank top" shoulder straps instead of sleeves made a huge difference in comfort! And the neckline was more of a "v" shape instead of fitting tightly at the neck. Much more comfortable, though water did get in there. They lycra suit had a little stand-up collar, which helped and wasn't restrictive. Great fit! And the full body lycra suit eliminated the need for sunscreen, which was a big relief for me (I burn easily) and much better for the corals and fish. Sunscreen is toxic to them, I heard recently.
I appreciated being able to order several wetsuits from your company with the intention to return the ones that didn't fit. That was a big help to me. I was sure the smaller size would be too small and feel too tight, but it was great! If your customer tries on the smaller one, she'll know whether it is impossibly tight, and then will know that the next larger size is better.
You may not have been expecting such a long answer, but I fretted so much about that trip and what to get, and I was so comfortable and satisfied once everything worked together. (We were in the wetsuits and gear all day for 4 days.) You can use my statements if you want, without using my name, but you'll probably want to edit for wordiness and repetition. I tried to reach your privacy policy, but when I clicked on the blue inked "privacy policy NEW! words, nothing happened. How could I have reached it?
I hope this was helpful to your other customer.

Hmmm. Well, this is a hard call.   I'm 5-7, abt 145 lbs, bust 36, waist 30, hips 39.  The large size fits me very well.  I wouldn't want it to be tighter because I wear it sitting down in a kayak.  I would think an XL might fit you because you weigh a bit more & have a slightly larger waist.  You are much shorter, however, so it may look like clam diggers on you!  Haha.  Not a bad look, though. Very "in" right now. The wetsuit is very well made.  I love the cut because other designs are so high in the neck area, I feel like I'm choking.  I also own the long Farmer Jane from NRS in Large & it fits well.   I'm very happy with this company.  My order arrived quickly & the quality is very, very good.  I would think that if you ordered the XL & it didn't fit to your liking, they would exchange it for the L without a hassle.   Check before ordering, however, and good luck!!

Hi jautumn - I'd probably go for the large. I have bigger hips than you and
I find it still fits me well. The suits do need to be snug (within reason -
think bike shorts, not tourniquet) to be most effective at keeping you
warm. There is a lot of give to the material, so it may seem like a
struggle to pull it on, but once it's there you won't notice it after a
while. The inseam measurement of this suit is roughly 10 inches, which
should give you an idea of where it will fall on your leg.

How the fit is perceived on a snug garment like the Little Jane is very personal. I suggest you order both those sizes and keep the one you like best. Returns are easy and free.

While you can use this suit for triathlon, it isn't designed for that sport. Tri suits have specific characteristics; check them out online and talk to other athletes before making your choice.

Comments about NRS Little Jane Wetsuit:

I wear this in the San Francisco Bay when paddle boarding right now in the winter and it is perfect for this endeavor. I wanted a shorty suit because I was fearful my full wetsuit would be too warm (and thus far it has worked out perfectly with the NRS undershirt on when cooler). I initially bought the small but found the chest area too large - I was fearful of chafing in the armpit area with the excess material. So I ordered and XS and it was perfect. I am 5'4" with a 34B bust and 37" hips - 124lb. It is a great little suit for the value!
