    Q:

What is the difference in warmth compared to the little john 2mill?
or any other differences. I need to replace a 4 year old 3 mill little john which appears you do not carry anymore. thanks

      A:

Jason, our HydroSkin material has a neoprene thickness of 0.5 mm, so it has considerably less thermal protection than your older 3 mm Little John. You can pair a HydroSkin shirt with the 2 mm Little John to get about the same protection, or add a 1 mm Disco Shirt, Item # 26091, to get a total of 3 mm. Otherwise, our 3 mm Farmer John is your best bet. Please give us a call, 800.635.5202, if we can help you with your choice.

    Q:

Would this work well with Hydroskin pants and jacket layered over it as an alternative to a full wetsuit? With the flexibility to shed layers as well as better freedom of movement?

      A:

Yes, you can certainly layer HydroSkin garments over one another. What you're suggesting could certainly work, depending on the water temperature and conditions. Just remember, at 0.5 mm neoprene thickness you'd have to have 4-6 HydroSkin layers to equal 3 mm wetsuit thermal protection.

      A:

I travel with the hydroskin little john, a long sleeve hydroskin, and
sometimes long pants so I have layering options for snorkeling, surfing,
kayaking, .... plus I find the hydroskin way more comfortable than a
wetsuit or a drysuit. Hydroskin feels more like a second skin and does not
restrict my movement yet keeps me warm and protects my skin from abrasions.

I really like the weight and material of this shorty summer wetsuit, but the cut is not really right for women and they only make it for men! If they made it in women's sizes it would be perfect for me.

Comments about NRS Men's HydroSkin Little John:

I got this wetsuit to wear kayaking in warm weather in cool water. I've worn it only a few times, but it is very comfortable and easy to put on. I found it a little too cool for my purposes, so I might have been better off with the short sleeve hydroskin suit; maybe I'll get that one next if this one ever wears out. This is a perfect wetsuit for summer months paddling in larger bodies of water, and the price is unbeatable for the quality, materials, and design.

Comments about NRS Men's HydroSkin Little John - Closeout:

This is the first wetsuit I've owned. It is a good solution for warm air, cold water paddling on Arizona waters in winter. I'm 6 ft 2 in, 170 lbs, chose size XL based on my height rather than my weight, and this was a good choice. Length chin-to-crotch is a good fit. The stretchy fit is tight enough that while there's a little extra fabric around my middle, this is hardly noticeable. It gets a bit damp inside, but has kept me warm when things got splashy.
