Commonly heard complaints from boaters are "My wetshoes dry slowly" and "My shoes really stink." The problems are related. Neoprene shoes don't "breathe" so moisture escapes slowly unless you work to eliminate it. And bacteria and other microorganisms in the water and from your feet can generate odors in those moist conditions. This video shows how to clean and dry watershoes to head off odor. And if stinky shoes happen, we show how to eliminate it.

There is a velcro strap across the top. This is a very comfortable and durable boot I have ever worn. I have used mine for over 3 years in pluff mud and oyster shells in South Carolina with little difficulty. One warning - wash them thoroughly after each use and dry completely. They will smell awful if you don’t.

Yes, the instep strap has a "hook-and-loop" closure that lets you adjust it for a snug, secure fit.

Yeah. The velcro strap helps keep the bootie held closer to your foot by putting pressure on the top of the foot below the ankle. Cheers.

I would guess so. They fit really well. I usually wear a size 8, but I wear a size 9 in these. They tend to be cut small.

      A:

Yes they can be worn for snorkeling but don’t you wear fins over your feet or shoes to snorkel? This is my 3rd pair of the same shoe. They usually last 5 years of above average use. I typically wear them windsurfing, kite boarding, and stand up Paddle boarding and any time I’m walking in the water where shells or any sharp object could hurt my feet, like clamming. I’ve never worn thru the bottoms, usually the tops start to come apart after 4 plus years. They still work, they just look bad.

Should work fine, Charlie. If you're using fins you'd need to size the toe space to fit the shoe.

They're probably a bit heavier than you would like for swimming/snorkeling,
but if you're going to be walking around on coral or rough rocks, you'll
definitely appreciate the grippy sole and padded footbed.

Yes, my family of 6 used them in Tahiti. We were snorkeling where there was a current and sharp reef. These shoes took a beating and still look brand new. They are excellent for feet protection, when needed.

These are not meant to wear inside of fins (too thick and not smooth). If
you are not wearing fins, then they're fine, especially since they can be
cinched up tightly. Hope this helps.

They run a little small. I usually wear an 8, but I wear a 9 in these. I would try the 11. If you go all of the way to a 12, that may be too big.

I wear a 14 in Mens and I purchased a 14 and they were too long. The width was fine, my foot is a bit wide. In hindsight I should have bought a size 13. I bought these 4 years ago and I assume the sizes are the same. I would recommend either getting a 9 1/2 or a 10 at the largest. A 9 1/2 would be best for a better fit and to avoid the extra toe length that I have on my pair which gets caught on rocks/etc. Good luck to you. Kind Regards. - Joe

I found that the shoes were about a whole size bigger than the advertised size. I wear a 14 wide (US) in the Lowa Tibet Mountaineering boots and thought that a 14 (US) NRS Kicker Wetshoe would fit and they were far too long past my toes and would get caught on rocks sometimes. I would suggest a whole size smaller than what you wear for regular boots and shoes, but I also ordered mine about 4 years ago so hopefully they don't make them differently now. I hope this helps, good luck!

    Q:

I just received my order of the Women's Kicker Remix size 9 and it is too small, even though I ordered the larger size as recommended. It fits too snug for the big toe, otherwise it may have been OK. I wear a women's 8-8.5 M shoe and now wonder if the NRS Kicker Wetshoe might be the better fit for me as the toe box is more square than the wommen's kicker. What size in this shoe should I order if I want to be comfortable. It says go down one size, but if I order to fit a 8.5 M what size is that?

I have had the NRS kicker wetshoe for 4 or so years.  I am always a size 8 in any shoe and ordered a 7 which has been perfect.  I don't think this is a women's shoe though.  I believe it is unisex sizing.

Cross reference the sizes using this standardized chart.
It looks like a Women's 8-1/2 is more or less equivalent ot a Men's 7 for US
sizes. Give it a try, maybe order the Men's 7-1/2 as well (following the "down
one size" recommendation). NRS will accept returns if it doesn't work out (as
long as you don't leave signs of wear, like walking around outside).

The shoes are built on different lasts. The Remix has a wider, more naturally shaped toe box. Look on the Larger Images & More Views link on each product page for the bottom view of the shoe to see this difference.

I use this bootie for beach-entry surfing (as opposed to boat-entry). I love it! It stays on very well with the pull-string and velcro top strap, and it keeps sand out pretty well while I'm entering and exiting the ocean. They are super sturdy and durable. I can't imagine ever needing to replace them. I also use them for hikes that involve stream crossings, waterfalls, and known muddy terrain. They don't provide much support for that much walking, but they are not bad, have good traction, and don't mind the water and mud.

They are a little awkward to get on and off, but not more than expected for how well they stay on. I'm thinking of trying a more lightweight model for surfing because these are a little bit overkill, but not by much.

Top quality water shoe without a doubt, just spent a week in Hawaii, hiked, snorkeled, surfed etc, did it all, with me my NRS shoes, did not fail me, protected my feet against the rough surfaces of Hawaii's lava rocks. Sand did not enter, I did not slip, excellent shoe, everything else is just that something else other than the best.

I bought this pair of shoes for kayaking (touring and surfski on the ocean). I needed a flexible, narrow one to fit into the kayak cockpits and provide protection from sharp stones. My only problem with it is the lack of draining. Water slushes in the shoes for as long time. I may drill some holes into the rubber.

Bought these shoes 1 size larger to accomodate a drysuit and they still worked fine with bare feet/wetsuit. They seem correctly sized and comfortable to wear. Getting them on is a little more difficult than slipping into a pair of street shoes, but on the upside they stay on securely without undue ankle constriction. In use I had absolutely no issues, they just worked.

I ordered one pair and tried it, than ordered them for the whole family. I did go one size larger for everyone. If you wanted to wear some kind of warm sock you should go up a few sizes. Haven't used them in cold weather but they were pretty warm as is. Standard shipping had them here in two days. Very happy with the product and the company

        Comments about NRS Kicker Wetshoe:

I use these low-cut shoes for kayaking, and bought them to replace some high-top shoes that were difficult to put on/take off. These shoes fit the bill, have great soles, and are slightly better built than my previous pair. The only downsides are, my feet rest at a 45 degree angle in the hull, and I'd like more coverage around the heel, and I removed the drawstring because it was cutting off circulation. Otherwise, the shoe is well put together, and comfortable.
