Commonly heard complaints from boaters are "My wetshoes dry slowly" and "My shoes really stink." The problems are related. Neoprene shoes don't "breathe" so moisture escapes slowly unless you work to eliminate it. And bacteria and other microorganisms in the water and from your feet can generate odors in those moist conditions. This video shows how to clean and dry watershoes to head off odor. And if stinky shoes happen, we show how to eliminate it.

    Q:

I wear a 10.5 usa size shoe and see from various reviews of the wetsock that they run large. some reviewers said the large size was ok, whereas others said the large was too big for a 10.5 shoe and medium was good for a size 10.

I plan to use them for fording glacier-fed cold rivers, so they will be inside sneakers or similar footwear. I could wear a thin liner sock, but this is not necessary.

I'm thinking about getting the size large stated to be for 8/9 shoe. What do you recommend?

Gerry, I'd recommend ordering both L and XL and trying them on for yourself. You can send back the pair that do not fit with our Hassle-Free returns label.

I am sorry, I cannot answer that questions, I wear a size 10. They felt true to size for a 10, just have no idea about larger sizes.

Being a size 11/12 I found not only the wetsocks which comfortably hug
the feet but the wetshoes also are right to size. You shouldn't have any
      issues... Keep boating!!

Based on the sizing drop down menu (next to the size/color selection), you should order a Medium.

Each of the Wetsock sizes covers a couple of shoe sizes. When you look on the sizing tab, the Medium fits women with size 7-8 feet.

The sizes are in the range of, which means if you step to a smaller
size the socks will be a very snug/ almost tight fit. If you stick
within the range of your size is it will fit perfect, won't be loose
nor cutting circulation off. Mine I use either with NRS Wetshoes or
sandles and just as comfy as can be along with the true purpose,
keeping your feet warm in the cold..... Enjoy!!!

      A:

Neoprene socks are sized a little big, in my experience. If you want it to fit
like a sock (tight) that you will wear inside a shoe, you might try the next
size down from the one recommended for your shoe size - an 8.5 is right in the
middle of the Large size - which covers sizes 8-9. I wear a size 12.5 - but I
found the recommended size XXL to be too loose, so I sized down one size. I
guess it depends on what you will be wearing over them. For me, they had to fit
inside a water shoe, so I needed them to be tighter. If you are wearing them in
a sandal and you want them to be extra roomy you might want the recommended
      size.

The sock was great, I wore it for sixteen days hiking and paddeling in southern Patagonia. No problems with blisters and as my feet were wet the whole time, they kept my feet resonably warm.
The problem is thier sizing chart...way off. I have a 10 1/2 foot. That calls for a XL. I thought that was too big...I got a large, still too big, so that sucked.

These seemed fine, but I ended up using the NRS HydroSkin Wetsocks instead. I was wearing them under Keen sandals, and this pair felt too thick.

Pay heed to the comments on sizing and it will be okay. I wear a men's 10 1/2 shoe, and bought size large, which NRS says is for shoe size 8-9. A size large in this sock is a perfect fit for my 10 1/2 foot.

These are great. I bought them to wear on days when I need a wetsuit when I use my surf kayak and/or waveski. I wear a size 11 shoe which means a M with these. Order these smaller than you normally would and you'll be very happy with them.
