You've got a Sand Stake for life, unless you lose it! This burly stake, of 2" aluminum angle stock, is 20.5" in length. Pound it into the sand, clip on your mooring rope and camp with peace of mind.
  • The web on the stake and cap is 3/16" thick, built for a lifetime of pounding it into river banks.
  • Many agencies are now requiring sand stakes for mooring, to protect stream side trees and brush from rope wear.
  • The 1" hole in the cap makes a quick and easy clip with your rope end carabineer.
  • No more running out a long rope to tie to a distant log or rock. No more burying a deadman.
  • Tough, efficient, safe, good for the environment - what's not to like?!

          Comments about Aluminum Sand Stake:

go purchase a 2 foot piece of 2x2x1/4 6061 structural angle aluminum and save yourself 75%. If you want a cap on it, take it to your local welder and he'll charge you a minimal amount to weld a stout cap on. Even with welding costs you'll still save greater than 50%. NRS is becoming too interested in profit and not so much in customer service.

            Comments about Aluminum Sand Stake:

Like the title says... as long as u don't loose it your set for life. i would recommend using a rubber mallet (hammer) to drive the stake in. It is made out of aluminum and if you were to continually beat on it with a steel hammer over the years you could weaken the aluminum. You might also want to paint the top 1/4 of it with some high visibility paint to aide seeing it in the dark so you don't stub your toes. Works great for tying up lassie, at place where dogs are allowed but must be leashed. please don't leave them unattended.

              Comments about Aluminum Sand Stake:

I bought this stake to replace one I've had for about 5 years. And after 5-years of pounding w/ a 3lb sludge the top has broken down, welds were cracking. So I ordered a new. The new one uses much thinner aluminum. I doubt it will last a single season... If you already have a stake, take it to a welder for repair. My Dad had his repaired for $35. I will get my old one repaired and have to pay to beef-up this new... Using a stake in any kind of current requires driving it into the ground with a small sludge. I recommend NRS use thicker aluminum for the top. Make it worth what you pay for it...

                  Comments about Aluminum Sand Stake:

Great on big sandy beaches with very little to tie the boat to. No more triping on ropes. However, killer for tarps. You will need a very large rubber mallet. Hammers do not work!
