The compact, convenient NRS Green Knife folds up to fit in your life jacket, shirt, paddling top or pants pocket, and stays put with a spring clip. A great small knife to keep with you on the water.
  • Fits perfectly in the pocket of your Astral Greenjacket.
  • This tough all-purpose boating and camping knife opens with one hand, holds a clean edge, and won't weigh you down or crowd your pockets.
  • The 2 1/8" blunt-tip, stainless steel locking blade is big enough for nearly any task without being cumbersome.
  • A spring steel clip helps keep your NRS Green Knife where you want it.
  • Reversible stainless clip attaches to lash tab and lets right and left handers operate it smoothly. When removing the clip and reinstalling it on the other side of the sheath, we recommend applying Loctite® or other threadlocker to the screws to prevent loosening.
  • The handy bottle opener includes a lanyard hole, so you can ensure your Green Knife always stays with you.

    Q:

I find the action a bit too stiff for one handed opening. Is there a way of loosening it a bit to make it easier to open one handed?

Pete, some lubrication should help. It's not easy, but if you can grip the smooth side of the pin the blade rotates on, you can use a hex wrench to loosen the tension on the blade.

      A:

The Green knife I had was about 3 or maybe 4 inches long, and yes it could cut fishing line and probably even rope. If you want a free one, try SCUBA diving at the bottom of a Class IV rapid on the Hood River in Oregon, because I lost it there. The clip was handy but not very tenacious when you needed it to be. After losing it, I bought a non-folding river knife with a locking sheath that screws down to my PFD strap. Impossible to lose.

The knife is approximately 3.5 inches long and almost an inch wide. The
blade is about 2.5 inches long. It cuts rope easily.

      Comments about NRS Green Knife:

This little knife works very well for me. It has a nice combo edge that works well for a variety of situations that I encounter while kayaking. I like the soft, rubbery material that's used for the handles...it allows for a good grip while using it with wet hands. The blade swings out easily, locks solidly and is centered correctly when closed. The blade sharpens easily and the serrated edge is very sharp...perfect for cutting rope and such. I only wish the clip was a little beefier like the one on the "wingman", another knife by NRS which I personally feel is the perfect recreational kayakers knife (see my review for that one:) On a side note... I had a defect in my knife after using it for about 4 years. I sent it back to NRS per their request and was sent a replacement for it. No questions asked, no hesitation, just good quality service! Thanks again NRS!

            Comments about NRS Green Knife:

I wanted a light, compact, versatile, sharp knife for pocket or clipping on a vest. The composite, rubberized handle is grippy and comfortable. It opens easily and is sharp. Perfect for my intended use.

              Comments about NRS Green Knife:

So I thought I loved this knife, fits great in the pocket of a green jacket like it was made for, easy to open, visible, and sharp. Well that was until I look down and it slipped out! I think the clip isn't strong enough or something because I just lost a nice knife. It was in the small pocket of my green jacket just like it is designed for so beware!
