The NRS K.O.S.S. was created with a singular purpose in mind: to be able to shove all those odd sized river possessions into one massive container. Everything, including the kitchen sink, fits easily into this behemoth of a dry bag. (We can't guarantee you can hook up the kitchen sink; wilderness plumbing is hard to come by.)
  • Traditional roll-down closure is covered by an overlapping cover that fastens down with quick-release buckles for unparalleled splash protection.
  • Rubberized handle grips make lugging heavier gear much easier on your digits.
  • The K.O.S.S. Bag also makes a great place for that trip member who keeps complaining about getting wet! Or your cooking.
  • Sizes are measured fully packed and closed. 22" x 18" x 23", 9108 cu. in., 149 liters, weight 7.3 lbs.

    Q:

What does K.O.S.S. stand for? Can we see some more pictures - even the thumbnail image sheds more light on the closure system than the actual product images do.

I don't remember what KOSS stands for, but I really like this bag. It closes the same way that all other dry bags close with two halves coming together and then rolling up on itself. However, it also contains a separate square top that then covers the top like a compression sack. When you look at the picture you cannot see the rolled part of the bag actually sealing it up, only the compression top. It is a great bag and I took it on a week long whitewater trip with my family (2 adults + 2 kids under 10). We put the tent; sleeping bags; kitchenware; jackets; tools like hatchet, first aid, featherlight stove and such all in it and there was room for more. It fit nicely between the thwarts of the canoe adjacent to a ~50 qt cooler.
I thought it was expensive, but it held as much or more than a few smaller bags. I would buy it again.

It stands for "Kitchens and Other Strange Stuff"!. One group I boated with on the Grand Canyon used theirs to hold all their cast iron skillets. Dutch ovens and other pots and pans. Lordy, it held a wealth of kitchen gear!

It is an awesome, stand-up waterproof back with a typical roll and clip
type of closure, but with the addition of a lid/flap that cinches down
over the roll closure. Great, heavy duty "soft" bag for kitchen stuff,
firewood, of a bunch of soft goods. the flat bottom is good for attaching
      to decks. Hope this helps.

I think KOSS stand for something like Kitchen and Other Strange Stuff. This a really big bag with a really large opening. I use mine to transport a large bbq and nesting firepan on the river.

The closure mechanism is a single velcro strip ~3 in long. This aligns the
two ends and then it is a simple roll top bag with a buckle to keep
everything together. Then there are 3 side buckles to cinch it closed. I
love this bag. It is huge and very strong.

Beats round or cylindrical-shaped duffels for packability. Holds a bunch. For smaller loads, it can be compressed easily.
