This is the best boating accessory to come along in many a year! The NRS Quick-Change Duffel gives you a rugged, ventilating gear bag and a changing pad to protect you from the sticks, stones and stickers of life.
    The Bag:
  • The bag is the NRS Large Purest Duffel. 30" Long x 16" Diameter, 6005 cubic inch volume
  • Sturdy 600-denier urethane coated polyester fabric forms the bottom and ends. Heavy-duty mesh in the top allows moisture and odors to leave.
  • We've backed all the handle stress points with webbing on the inside of the bag so they can't pull out. A removable shoulder strap is included.
  • The Changing Pad - Here's How It Works:
  • The sturdy 4-foot diameter nylon pad stows in a zippered pocket in the bag when not in use.
  • Standing on the pad while getting into your boating gear protects your feet and keeps things clean.
  • Then, when you've changed at the end of a wet day, just tug on the perimeter cord-lock drawstring and your soggy gear is in a neat bundle and you don't have a single sticker in your feet! Two webbing handles make it easy to carry a pad full of soggy gear.

About a year ago I specified this bag for my Fire Departments Swift Water Rescue team and we bought 21 of them. These bags get used a lot. They get tossed on the apparatus, shoved or crammed into compartments, drug down to the water, you name it. That having been said, all twenty one bags are still in near perfect condition. I think the changing pad is worth its weight in gold. I stand on the pad, strip out of my street clothes, pull on my water gear, go. At the end of the training/call I do the same thing only now I pull a draw string and all the wet gear is neatly contained - it doesn't "drain" itself into the apparatus compartments/trunks etc. I like this bag so much I bought one to use as a professional Scuba instructor. Works great for that too.

Im a raft Guide/ kayaker. I used another bag for many seasons. I finally went out and bought a new gear bag from NRS. The materials selected for this product are just not strong enough to be unloaded and loaded on the bus or trailer every day and then thrown around a little bit at the put in and take out. My bag has already torn. I did not even get half a season out of it.

I got this bag as a gift, loved it, and purchased one for someone else as a gift. This has been great to keep our gear in one place and to hold our wet gear on the way back from a paddling trip. The changing pad is big and nice to use!

                Q:

The picture shown on your website shows no handles on the pad. But, your video of this bag does show handles.

So, does the pad have handles and the quick draw to enclose wet gear?

Yes indeed, Sue, the pad has two handles, as well as the draw cord.

                Q:

My understanding is that the bag here is the large Purest Mesh Duffel. If that is correct, why is it cheaper for me to buy the bag ($50) and Quick Change Pad ($16) separately, versus buying the Quick Change Bag & Pad for $70?! And couldn't the guy who wanted the red bag simply buy them separately to get the color he wants...and apparently save a few bucks in the meantime?

Kevin, the Quick-Change has a separate zippered pocket in the bottom of the bag for holding the Pad when it's not in use. The Pad is connected in the pocket with a quick-release buckle. The regular Purest bags don't have that pocket.

Pete, there's only one size in this bag. Its price is $64.95. That $15.95 price you see is for an additional/replacement changing pad.
