10% Off All Accesrrories! The E-162D Nez Perce is built for big water, big loads and big thrills. It will carry up to 12 paddlers, but is ideally run with oars. Strap on an NRS Bighorn II frame and let the adventures begin!
  • Modeled after the original Riken design, 22" main tubes taper to 18" at the bow and stern.
  • Tapered "diminishing" tubes provide increased interior capacity, excellent wave-punching ability and improved visibility for the rower.
  • Heavy-duty Pennel Orca® material is super abrasion, chemical and UV-resistant for unmatched durability.
  • Full-coverage HD40 floor armor on the bottoms and sides of the tubes guards your boat from the wear and tear of boulders and beaches.
  • Four main tube air chambers give you extra security in emergency situations.
  • Self-bailing floor with quick-draining holes allows you to leave the bucket at home.
  • 14 2" D-rings and 6 handles make rigging and launching the E-162 Nez Perce a snap.
  • Trouble-free Leafield™ C7 Valves ensure easy inflation/deflation of the tubes, thwarts and floor, and the Leafield A6 Pressure Relief Valve protects the floor.
  • The NRS BAT™ (Batten Attachment Thwart system) lets you easily add or remove thwarts to accommodate paddlers or a rowing frame.
  • Built outfitter tough, this may be the last raft the private boater will ever need to buy.
  • 10-year retail warranty, 5-year commercial.

How To: Inflate a Raft (2:00)

You've invested in a good boat; you want to make sure it lasts a long time. Proper inflation techniques go a long way toward protecting the raft's seams and the baffles between chambers from strain and damage. In this video, Josh Gile, NRS Repairs, goes over steps for pumping up to recommended levels while keeping equal air pressure on both sides of each internal baffle. It's simple stuff, but doing it right is important boat longevity insurance.

How To: Fold an Inflatable Boat or SUP for Storage (2:33)

One of the great things about inflatable rafts, catarafts, kayaks and SUP boards is that when not in use they can be deflated, taking up very little storage space. In this video the NRS Repairs crew gives you the tips and techniques to minimize stress on seams and material while they're being folded and tucked away.

  • NRS E-162D Nez Perce Self-Bailing Rafts

What is the distance between the center of the side tubes on the E-160 and E-162D. Also what is the length of the flat area on the side tubes for the same models? I'm trying to determine if my frame will work, which measures 63" wide and 82" long. I also have a trailer frame that measures 22" wide. I currently use this configuration on my Aire 156R. Thanks

Mike, you can use the Compare feature to look at boat specs side by side. The 160 takes a 72" wide frame, so it's out for your frame. Interestingly the E-162D and the AIRE 156R have the same 63" center-to-center tube width. We list a 66"W frame width for our boat because our stock frames come in 6" wide increments. We list an 80" frame width, but at only 2" over that your frame should be fine. Give us a call to discuss further, 800.635.5202.

What is the maximum sized NRS cooler that will fit this raft? Why does the description mention the raft is optimum for a single rower and not multiple paddlers?

The NRS Big Sky 146, Item # 70919.01 and Igloo Marine 123, Item # 70880.02 will both fit it. It's a big boat, but you can certainly paddle it with 5-9 paddlers. Good idea to add extra thwarts to paddle it with large number of people.
