A favorite among our customers for all of their river trips. Handheld design allows you to move around the raft to reach the interior valves. 12-volt motor is fast and powerful: 1.75 PSI in 5 minutes per raft. The temperature-sensitive relief valve protects against overheating. 4 nozzles, 10' battery-clamp cord.

Never operate LVM with vehicle motor running - it can overheat the pump due to a higher volt output.

Using this pump continuously for more than 10 minutes can cause it to overheat. Please allow cool down time between boats.

I use this product for inflating both of my two rafts, and the air-bags in my two white-water canoes. I lost my first LVM Inflator on a trip to a white-water river in Utah. I borrowed several different inflaters on different river trips -- none came even close to the LVM in preformance. I purchased a 2nd, and couldn't do without it!!

LVM Pump

Compared to the old NRS pumps, the new ones are much more needy and fragile. The first one I had burned up after inflating 2 rafts!

    Comments about LVM Inflator Pump:

This is the second LVM inflator I have owned. The first unit did not have thermal protection and overheated and melted when someone in our group was blowing up a queen air mattress, with a stuck closed valve. This unit will inflate a 6-8 man whitewater raft in 5-7 minutes. You should always let this pump cool after each raft is inflated - if you don't do this you will trip the thermal feature and be waiting for it to reset. Also, make sure you connect directly to your vehicle's battery, always with the engine off. Great pump! I highly recommend this pump for anyone that needs to inflate a raft quickly. Bring your earplugs, this pump is noisy.

    Service and delivery comments:

Delivery was prompt and the pump arrived in perfect condition.

    Comments about LVM Inflator Pump:

This product has been awesome for me. I've had it for 3 years now and use it to blow up my 14' Outlaw, 8' Avon, packraft, and paddleboards. I purchased a Cabela's 12V battery and it is more than enough to inflate my raft on a fly out trip. After the first time I used it I found the pump in the bottom of a dry bag filled with river water. After drying out it continues to work like new. One of my favorite things is to use the pump to suck air out of the chambers for tight packing. She's loud, but I keep ear plugs in my bag.

    Service and delivery comments:

Delivery to Alaska was surprisingly fast and customer service is helpful as usual.

UK manufactured LVM more durable than Chinese unit

      Comments about LVM Inflator Pump:

I have had several LVM inflators over the past 30 years. Both the older (green) and newer (blue) versions move air faster than any other 12V units. This is the second Chinese unit in the past 3 yrs. The previous one slipped off the raft tube to the ground and then began to work slower until it burned up the motor and could not be repaired. This LVM like its predecessor could benefit from a longer cord to reach the far inflation valves on a raft.

      Service and delivery comments:

      Delivery was immediate.

It'll work fine for that boat, Mike. 5+ minutes and you'll have most of the air in. You'll still need a hand pump to top it off to full pressure, and to take along with you.

I use this pump to pretty quickly inflate my 12' Avon bucket boat and 12' Hyside Padillac II and it works very well. If I use it continually for both boats, the pump does get a little warm but my boat is trailered and I generally only inflate the ducky at the put-in with no problems.

I have dismantled these LVM Pumps before. There is a screw at the center of the housing, easily accessible, that holds the intake/exhaust assembly in place. Loosen it and take it apart to repair or inspect the internal airway. I have re-soldered the electrical leads on occasion, when the unit got too hot and loosened the wiring.
