No, Pat, it's a different bird. Give us a call, 800.635.5202, for help in getting a new handle.

  • NRS Barrel Pump Handle and Shaft

    Q:

Is there a way to connect the piston to the shaft without using glue? Or is that the best option and if it is what kind of glue would work best?

      A:

The piston will fit into the shaft firmly, however the action of pumping,
combined with the friction created, and the piston topping out on the top
cap of the barrel, will inevitably cause the two pieces to seperate. I used
Gorilla Glue to combine my pieces, obviously after you place the shaft
through the center of the top cap.
Gorilla glue, as it says on the package instructions, reacts to water
intitally, expands, and hardens into a very stiff and water proof
composition. So spritz the shaft and ensure both surfaces are clean. Place
a bead of GG throughout the female piece on the piston, place them
      together. Voila.
You can somehow rig clamps to hold the pieces together, but I just put the
whole pump together with the shaft in the lowermost position to hold it
steady. It has been a gem every since.
      Hope this helps,
      Bay bay.

It's designed to be a glued joint. We use PVC cement, same stuff you can get at a hardware store for gluing home plumbing joints on plastic pipe.

Comments about NRS Barrel Pump Handle and Shaft:

Handle is glued to the shaft so you cannot remove it to replace the handle only. In my pump, the shaft is glued into the plunger so I couldn't remove it to install this part. There is a handle sold separately but since it was the same price I thought I would get both the handle and shaft so I would have more options, but ultimately was left with a combination of parts that were incompatible. The only thing I could figure out to make the new handle work with the old plunger was to cut both shafts and splice them together but even that didn't work because the replacement parts use thicker wall pvc - which is good, but now I'm stuck with a lot of broken parts that won't fit together.
Maybe it was user error but better instructions or information about the replacement part options would have been helpful.
