This jacket doesn't have the loops for the leg straps like the Big Water V, Big Water Guide and Rapid Rescuer jackets. You could loop them over the bottom adjustment straps.

      A:

There is no safe way to attach leg straps. Get a PFD that fits and keg straps are not necessary. Good luck.

    Q:

Is this life jacket U.S. Coast Guard-approved?
    Asked on 2/27/2013 by Irina

      A:

Yes, it is a Type III PFD, USCG approved floatation device. Type III means
that it will not turn a person face up in the water if they are
unconscious. Type III PFD's are comfortable and mostly used by boaters
where you can expect swift rescue. They will not turn an unconscious
person over on their back. I bought this for my son to paddle in.

Comments about NRS Vista PFD - Youth:

A paddling PDF that is cut for kids! Doesn't pinch or bind, easy to adjust and my daughter doesn't drive us crazy whining about her PDF any more. She can easily spend the day out on the water kayaking and capsizing with this PDF. It's her big girl PDF. Excellent buoyancy and doesn't kreep up when in the water. A PDF that can easily be adjusted as they grow and for putting layers on under it for cold rainy paddles. We'll worth the price, especially when it is a PDF that she wants to ware not has to ware.

Flipped in a rapid and she was dragged under boat. Was able to swim to shore and get out of the water. Not bad for a 4 year old. Probably wouldn't have been alive today without your product. Thanks nrs.

Comments about NRS Vista PFD - Youth:

We bought 2 of these for our 7 and 9 year old kids. There's a big size difference between them but the pfd adjusts to fit them both well. Lots of swim testing: no riding up, good floatation. Much better than the 'department store' brands they had previously.
