  • NRS Firepan Carry Bag

    Q:

Is this NRS Firepan Carry Bag padded and what is the actual material, vinyl or nylon or __ ? Thanks.
P.S. Might NRS offer a similar bag but a bit smaller. Thinking for using for a Primus 300 samp stove that is 23"W x 13.5" x 5"H. But as another reviewer mentioned this would be a bit large.

I used it last summer and it was a bit too large for the typical fire pan that NRS sells. It would be nice if it was a little smaller. When you lift it up you feel the fire pan moving all around inside and it's awkward. They could definitely improve the design.
Not sure the exact dimensions but I'm thinking it may be too large for your stove.
I'm not sure on the material, fairly durable, but wears for sure. Spent 10 days on the river with it and one of the days the bag was rubbing up against something and almost got a hole in it.
      Hope this helps.

No the bag is not padded. It is a very heavy vinyl. It fits their
fire pan well with enough extra space to be able to add the fire
      blanket.

The Firepan Bag is made of a PVC-coated polyester material. It isn't padded. Take a look at one of the drybags for your stove. I think it will fit in the Large Tuff Sack, Item # .55023.01.

Not padded. Made of a vinyl, similar to that of a dry bag.

No it is not padded , but it is pretty rugged- it has been bouncing around in the back of my pickup for a while, and it does not seem to have any ill effects. I think it is Vinyl. The Firepan is pretty heavy , and the bag has held up well. I've had it a little over a year now, and I'm not gentle with things.

Comments about NRS Firepan Carry Bag:

When I measured my brand new firepan vs the firepan bag I was slightly concerned it would be too small. Well that certainly wasn't the case. I wish I had read the reviews before I ordered as this is easily three to four inches larger on width and height for a regular sized cambridge fire pan. What that does is make it kind of floppy to handle and move around. Other than that the bag seems well made but what a discrepancy from the posted specs. In my business if someone ordered something one size and I delivered it 4 inches larger I would be paying a refund.

Comments about NRS Firepan Carry Bag:

It's well built. It is a bit bigger than the grill for which it's intended, so a little sloppy fit.

Comments about NRS Firepan Carry Bag:

This bag is ridiculously oversized for the Cambridge Welding firepan that NRS sells and that this bag is designed for.

The bag dimensions listed indicate that this bag is 28" wide. The bag we received is at least 30" wide. The firepan, with handles, is just under 27" wide.

The bag is also much too tall for the firepan.

I really have no clue how NRS did such a poor job working out the dimensions for this bag, when they only sell one firepan that the bag is designed for.

I'd give the bag less stars, but it's cheap. So, if you're into saving $$, maybe it's for you. We'd rather get it right the first time and have a bag buolt for life, so this bag's going back and we ordered a wrap stlye bag from a competitor in Flagstaff.
