Choosing a life jacket, or personal flotation device (PFD), that fits well for all-day wearing comfort is one of the most important water safety decisions you make. In this video we show you how to tighten the straps to ensure the jacket won't ride up when you're in the water. Q:

How accurate is the sizing? I am just at the cusp of the high end of
the med. Should I size up or is there a bit of play in the sizing?

I'm a medium and it fits perfectly

Mine is a medium/large (both sizes are on the label) and fits snug but not tight. I take a size L t-shirt, wear a size 14 dress, 5'6" tall and quite busty.
      I hope that's helpful.

PJ, any time you see a single "design flotation," in this case, 16 lbs, the foam flotation panels for all the sizes are the same, only the strap lengths are different.

I would put myself at "cusp" as well. It fits great, but I'm not busty "34 C). It sizes out nicely around the waist if needed, but if you are bustier, I would probably go up a size.
Thank you for all you do and have an amazing day!

I do not like anything too tight and bought Large and it's perfect for me.I buy everything in Large or XL depending on manufacturer since sizing varies and I do not like to have an obstructed breathing or discomfort of a tight fit around my chest.Hope this helps. I have 3 of these and use them for SUP and kayaking.

Your women's PFD is labeled women's. Why?

It's cut generously in the front to make room for your "girls." I'm pretty full-figured and find it very comfortable. When I put on my husband's PFD I feel all squished.

Watch the video; it's made completely women-specific to be comfortable around the chest but not too bulky.

Helen, the Linda is made by Astral Buoyancy. They've sculpted the foam at the top to help fit a woman's breasts.

    Q:

is this pfd ideal for class 5 whitewater?
    Asked on 5/12/2014 by MJ

      A:

MJ, Astral designed the Linda as a recreational kayaking jacket. Class V whitewater brings the real possibility of swimming in dangerous rapids. Also, anyone running Class V needs to be skilled and prepared not only for self rescue, but for participating in rescuing their boating partners. My recommendation would be a higher flotation, full-on rescue jacket. If you don't have swiftwater rescue training, you would be wise to acquire it before tackling that level of whitewater.

I love the low cut arms but find the front too bulky. I think I should have spent the extra money and bought the Ninja.

      Ann,
I bought this for my girlfriend who is getting in to sea kayaking, but I think this could be used of paddle boarding all the same. Although if you are looking for something more light weight I'd recommend the Astral YTV.
