    Q:

I bought these blades before they had edge protectors so my edges are chipped up. Are the edge protectors available separately? I'd like to stop the damage if possible.

I had this done to mine. I had to pay for shipping both ways to the Cataract facility in Utah. They said that they could only apply the edge protector to blades that have a fringe edging which mine have, apparently some of the first blades didn't have this. It cost me $15 per blade plus shipping both ways, but nice to know that I have some extra protection to prolong the life of my blades.

The edge protector is applied at the factory. Contact Cataract to see if there's anything they can do or suggest for you - 801.467.1204 or info@cataractoars.com

Comments about Cataract Carbon Razor Oar Blade with Edge Protector - 7":

Got to test out these blades last fall while steelhead guiding on the Main Salmon and loved them! I ended up buying a pair for my own drift boat setup for steelhead fishing mostly. The are super light and strong and quiet when sneaking up on fish. I also like the tip protector, it gives me some added comfort knowing I can scrap a few rocks running rapids here and there in between fishing.
