Row in style and comfort when seated over your cooler or dry box. The NRS Frame Flip Seat Mount supports a padded raft seat and tilts forward out of the way to access the cooler or box beneath.
  • The Seat Mount attaches securely to the crossbar with LoPro U-bolt hardware.
  • Use NRS Adjustable Cooler or Dry Box Mounts (sold separately) to adjust the cooler or dry box height to fit the Seat Mount. Alternatively, you can weld tabs on an aluminum dry box.
  • The Mount uses four 2" diameter spacers to protect your cooler or dry box lid from the seat bolt heads.
  • The Mount places the bottom of the spacers (top of your cooler or dry box) 6" above the center of the crossbar the Mount is attached to.
  • Measure to make sure this 6" rise allows your cooler or dry box to be supported above your raft floor or cataraft frame. If you need a different rise, contact us for more options.
  • Since the Flip Seat Mount puts you higher than if your seat was on a Seat Bar, the NRS 10" Oar Mounts, Item # 91042.02, are the best oar mounts to use with it.
  • Two sets of bolt holes accommodate both Low-Back and High-Back Drain-Hole Seats (sold separately).
  • A tie-down strap with quick release buckle for securing the Mount to the back crossbar is included.
  • The heart of the NRS frame system, the LoPro™ Fitting, just went high tech! Now made in drop-forged aluminum alloy; it's stronger and 25% lighter. Better product, same price... NRS innovation.

  • NRS Flip Seat Mount

    Q:

Can you mount the swivel to this? My wife is tired of siiting on the cooler in the front of our cataraft.

      A:

Yes, Chad, a swivel seat can be mounted on the Flip Seat. That hole pattern isn't in the stock Mount, but we can punch them for you, just call 800.635.5202 to order. The mount will also still have the original hole pattern, that you'll use to attach those four spacers.

Yes. You may have to drill some additional holes.

  • NRS Flip Seat Mount

    Q:

Are the U-Bolts for this a different size? If U-Bolts are same size and tightened, the seat would not flip, it would be flush to crossbar with no movement.

The upper bar at the front of the seat is hinged.

They're the same size as the others on the frame. Take a look at the photos
of the seat flipper--the tower that attaches to the crossbar doesn't
swivel, the flat piece the seat mounts on swivels on top of the tower.

The pivot point is not at the U-bolt, but in that horizontal piece, the top of the "T". Click on the third small thumbnail photo below the large photo to see the seat flipped forward.

  • NRS Flip Seat Mount

    Q:

Does the seat need to be supported by a cooler or box? Does it hold the wait of an adult without being supported?

It has to be supported by a box or cooler.

      A:

You will need a cooler/drybox. It will not support any weight without one
or the other. Without the drybox/cooler it will keep rotating downward and
will not be usable. I have the mount angled forward so it's more like a 4"
      rise.

It has to be supported, Rocky. It hinges on that horizontal piece that the seat plate attaches to.

  • NRS Flip Seat Mount

    Q:

Can you have it made so it clears higher than 6"? My cooler sits in front of me as opposed to my drybox and it sits higher than 6".
Asked on 1/13/2015 by Patty from United States

    • Staff Reviewer

      A:

Yes, Patty, we can make custom heights of the Mount for you. The measurement we'll need is the vertical distance from the center of the cross bar it attaches to, to the top of the box/cooler it rests on. Give us a call to order, 800.635.5202.

  • NRS Flip Seat Mount

    Q:

Is it possible to locate this mount on the back side bar of the dry box and turn the seat around so it flips backward away from the box?

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

Charles, if I follow you, turning the seat mount to face the stern of the boat while still sitting on the cooler/drybox would work You must have a cooler or drybox for the mount to rest on as it is not self-supporting.

  • NRS Flip Seat Mount

    Q:

Is there a top view? Do your legs hang over the bar or can the seat be more forward?

      A:

When you look at the photo of the seat flipped forward you can see that there's another set of holes that let you move the seat forward. I've used the flip seat a lot; it works great and is very comfortable. I think it works best with the 10" oar mounts.

Comments about NRS Flip Seat Mount:

The flip seat works exactly how you'd expect and want it to work.

Just don't forget to unclip the strap when you're trying to get into the cooler under the seat or your friends will remind you of how clever you really are.

Comments about NRS Flip Seat Mount:

Not sure how long these have been available, I should have done this a long time ago. Love sitting in a seat vs. on top of my dry box! Release latch on back of seat is tough to reach when loaded up for a multi day trip. I had to adjust oar mounts to avoid hitting my knees. It took awhile but finally found my sweet spot. I cut some industrial hose to add an inch of height to oar mounts every little bit helps..
